Beautiful video Ana! I could not understand the language but it sounded like something with the passion of the Spanish. I'd love to come to camp with the peace people in Ireland but I have to work. Maybe it will still be going when i retire.
Peace
George

Ok Ana, that's a fair point. I would rather not have the poetry than war either. But I do enjoy reading poems by Siegfried Sasoon from ww1 too. I think I like them in terms of retrospect, and I am glad that these people spent as much time writing about their expiriences for everyone to read. The poets of war have always been able to galvanize their points and situations in fantastic manners so we get a very personal feeling from them. I mean, the war happened and these people wrote about it. Look at Ireland where I live, we had war for so long, and a lot of our traditional songs are rebel songs. I would have rathered it not happen, but it did. And I still hear the anger and pain in the songs and poems. And I'm glad that people wrote them, because now I know what it was like.

I would never try to justify a war, because I can't. I think if war supporters saw the horrors of war, they probably wouldn't support it anymore.

The Clash, Spanish bombs. It's about the Spanish civil war. It talks about how much poetry came from the war. Freedom fighters and a peoples will to stand up against faciusm. It also mentions Federico Lorca , a liberal poet and play writer that was executed for having signs of democracy in his works.
