People, if you had to chose ONE song that made you want to be a better person or maybe just made you aware of how some situation really is, what would it be? For me it was "Green Fields of France" how can anyone not be moved by putting a name and face on a soldier? Makes it seem so incredibly sad and wasteful to die in some far corner of the world leaving life unlived. I still respect people who choose to become soldiers, however, is it too much to ask that their government not send them into danger zones without a really good cause? Every soldier is someones son, daughter, sweetheart. Every person who dies in a conflict is giving up the rest of their potential. Yes sometimes it cant be avoided, but if it can be avoided then it really should be. Always a last last resort. Too many lives unlived if you get me, thanks.

ON David Crosby's first album solo from Crosby, Stills, and Nash he did this grat song with many other powerful musicians including Grace Slick and other Jefferson Airplane and Greatful Dead people. Here is the only version avialiable on YOUtube

Roger Waters from Pink Floyd. Leaving Beirut. It's about how he stayed with a Palestiian family in Beirut when his car broke down. And how the experience changed his view on life, war and people who are meant to be our enemies. Brilliant song though.

And Lee, I hope you find some of the music here interesting. And there are a few Guthries around alright. I'm not from America. But there are a few English people I know with the surname.

I know it's not the Lennon version. But thought some people might enjoy this version of imagine. The video was banned worldwide because it was deemed to graphic. But all the images are taken from the news and T.V.

ive just joined to get some tips on good peace music,and your talking about woody and arlo guthrie.guthrie is my maiden name ,how funny is that.are there any more guthries in america ,im from australia.my ancestors are from scotland.anyway i love john lennons imagine.

Oh and "Imagine" is one of the best songs I didnt even think of it!But again, some people were so offended when John talked about "no religion" but I feel if religion makes you a better person Im all for it, however if your religion makes you want to harm others or mistreat them, you should seriously question it.
