Dear frends, this day it was dramatic at Pomaia (Pisa Italia, http://www.iltk.it/ also in English), where we have our Buddhist Monastery( the bigger one for importance in Europe): fire with a very very stong wind destroyed it and all the ancient sacred and rare books and writes, and statues, and sacred images and tanks! The danger is very very big and seroious! Our hearts are really proved! We, student of Lam-rim, ask help to all the world, for prayer, meditations, money, works, compassions, all!

Develop your faith and see the same divinity existing in every living being.Spread your love,which is the very essence ofyour divine nature and the divine nature of allliving beings ,Look upon every person with compassionand love.Unless you adopt this approach in your dealings with ithers , all your spiritual exercises will be just a waste.Worshipping God while harming your fellow beings can never take to your goal.The Gits teaches that man himself is God, and that God is man.This unity of God and man has repeatedly been emphasized in the Gita."Only one who treats all alike is a true human bening '" Lord Krishna proclaimed.

It is to be noted that from birth to death, man is the slave of urges and hesitations.Man must examine these and rely more and more on those that lead him towards subjective joy rather than objective pleasure. Man should not consider that happiness consists in having a houseful of children and equipped with all gadgets for comfortable living.Nor can peace be realized through wealth,power or position.Subjective joy can be acquired by harmony at home,mutual cooperation among the members of the family and the community.

So how do we teach others that love is more important than power? How do we teach them that compassion is more powerful than guns?

Due to technical probems with my computer, I have not been able to access the iPeace site, or other sites on the internet, recently. (My computer locks up after about 5 minutes on-site).

BlueMelusine: Thank you for the reminder! I didn't realize my depression shone through THAT darkly! I don't want to scare people off with it (LOL).

But what you say is true - more eloquently (and succinctly) than I can put it -- compassion starts with our self.

How many of the rest of the group truly feel compassion for themselves? How have you offerered your selves forgiveness (I find this an awkward thing to do). How to we extend forgiveness toward others whom have hurt us, or hurt other people in the world?

Please share your insights!
