Looking within
Peace is an inside job. We must find peace in our own hearts and lives before we can expect to see it in the world. I believe it all begins with love. Loving ourselves is the first step.
Loving myself as I am, the highest and lowest of my own expression, is the first step toward inner peace. This is unconditional acceptance of what is. No positive change is possible unless we first accept what is. It takes compassion, forgiveness and understanding.
Once I have accepted myself, it becomes easier to accept others. When I find myself judging someone else, and my inner peace is slipping away, I must look within myself and ask, "What is it that needs to me healed within me, to once again bring peace to my heart? How can I see things differently, to bring a greater understanding and compassion to the situation?"
Do any of you have thoughts about this??

You brought up such an important point. Everyone talks about loving self, and few offer suggestions about how. I love your suggestion about talking to yourself in a nurturing way. Sometimes I talk to myself as if I am my own child. Thank you so much for your beautiful thoughts! -
