I wrote this poem a year after my step daughter was killed in the London Bombings of 2005.

No Room for Hate.

There is no room within my heart
for revenge, fire or hate
there is no room within my mind
for any thoughts like these.

I cannot find the words to say
just how it is I feel
but I know from deepest hurt
I must forgiveness find.

The hurt that’s been done to us
cuts sore like a knife,
but we must not, repay in kind
what has been done to us.

Instead we must try and find
the way that is so hard,
and reach out our loving hands
to find some friendship now.

There can be no more healing thing
than opening wide our eyes
and seeing that most other folk
are really just like us.

An Open Hand

Here is my open hand
please take my only gift,
I have nothing to give
but my loyalty and love.

I am poor and simple
I have no gold to give
but here is my heart
within this open hand.

Clasp my hand please
and share friendship now,
we will be so much stronger
helping each other together.

Changing The World

I want the world to change,
away from needless war;
that only bring us sorrow,
separation, distress and pain.

I want the world to change,
for freedom to find its voice.
I would like to see the burden
of oppression all lifted now.

I want the world to change,
for hunger to be no more.
I do not want the greedy
to eat another’s food.

I want the world to change
for all political prisoners
to be freed from torment
and loose their heavy chains.

I want to change my world
but what can one man do?
I am so insignificant alone
with little power of my own.

“We want to change the world”
so swells the mighty roar,
of us all joined together
to shake the seats of power.

My favourite peace poem:

Say NO to PEACE
if what they mean by 'peace'
is the quiet misery of hunger,
the frozen stillness of fear,
the silence of broken spirits,
the unborn hopes of the oppressed.

Tell them that PEACE
is the shouting of children at play,
the babble of tongues set free,
the thunder of dancing feet,
and a father's voice singing.

Hope is way of peace, it is not illusion but fire and strength for being in front of the work.
Thanks David

"Dreams"
All people dream,but not equally.
Those who dream by night in the dusty recesses of their mind,
Wake in the morning to find that it was vanity.
But the dreamers of the day are dangerous people,
For they dream their dreams with open eyes,
And make them come true.

Pema,
I am sure that we all share this hope, but it is as you say more that hope...it is a conviction that Peace Will Come. because we believe it so strongly.

Helena,
The wonderful thing about the internet is that we are connecting together and that your secret dreams are becoming part of a greater reality...it is happening right here...all our secret and impossible hopes are becoming a great and unstoppable positive force.

Maria,
Your five lines have defined all my thoughts about the Candle 4 Tibet and what we achieved on the 7th August and will achieve on the 23rd. The light will indeed be seen. Thank you.

Daniela,
I agree that as we join together we become the voice that will change history. The peace movement in the sixties stopped the Vietnam War...so we will be part of stopping the lies that our leaders tell us and showing them that we will have peace.

I hope I have read your precious words right and seen the hope that shines out into our new age.

Sylviane,

Ci sei anche tu who are you

Ci sei anche tu You are also heretra miliardi di stelle between billions stars

Mirror against mirror: image
born of the image, oh miraculous
depths of the self, fountain hidden
inside its frame, light created
so that the light will be seen.
