I wrote this poem a year after my step daughter was killed in the London Bombings of 2005.

No Room for Hate.

There is no room within my heart
for revenge, fire or hate
there is no room within my mind
for any thoughts like these.

I cannot find the words to say
just how it is I feel
but I know from deepest hurt
I must forgiveness find.

The hurt that’s been done to us
cuts sore like a knife,
but we must not, repay in kind
what has been done to us.

Instead we must try and find
the way that is so hard,
and reach out our loving hands
to find some friendship now.

There can be no more healing thing
than opening wide our eyes
and seeing that most other folk
are really just like us.

I was going to Comment about a Palestinian Woman

I was going to leave a comment about the effects of oppression,
but tears stopped my writing.
I was going to comment on a wonderful woman's dignity,
but the horror of her plight stopped me.
I was going to talk about yet another man's broken promise,
but then I looked at myself...just a man.
I wish I could find something healing to say...some hope
but I fear I have little hope to give.
What can I who enjoy freedom know of this family's sadness?
Another day,
another broken heart,
another dream shattered.
I wish I could find words to heal; to change, to empower.
But I cannot.

I had not read of which you speak,
but through the net I will seek,
when I do,I'll return to you,
say I gave a look,
and my opinion of th' book.
as for the poem that I wrote,
please listen close and let me quote:
it is a metaphor of my life
,to this point and a slice of strife,
a touch of drama written for my Momma.
not looking for pity or any helping hand,
but when she reads it she'll understand...
I thank you for your interest in me,
but it's in the past,it's history,
I'm over it and now I'm Zen,
Thanks again for being my friend...

To Lonely Soul:

I wonder if it would be...
If you ever read the "Glass Menagerie" ???
It is the play by Tennesee
(Williams). If you have not, be certain to see
or read this play...
And you well may agree...
The subject to you is dear...
And you'll either cry
Or smile from ear to ear...
Or at least draw a heavy sigh.
The glass unicorn of 'Laura's'
Was her favorite... but it broke...
It lost it's horn and for her was no joke.
The protagonist named Laura
To her you might relate...
Hope you write back when you read it...
Saying what you think... I can't wait!

We are the Peace

Without words the world is dumb
without hope the world is numb
we have words
we have hope
We are the Peace to come.

My Porcelain Unicorn

Once new and Clean, shiney and white,
My Porcelain Unicorn kept my dreams safe at night,
Keeping me safe,keeping me warm,
Keeping all my dreams free from harm,
Even if the times were bad,
Even when sometimes were sad,
A gift from my Granny to her lonely lad,
It'll hold onto your dreams, said my ol' GrandDad,
Then the cracks began to form,
and began to age my unicorn,
Little chips,here and there,
Every time we moved somewhere,
Another crack in it's magic horn,
and no more dreams for this unicorn,
No longer new,shiney or white,
I no longer remember sweet dreams at night,
Another little chip,Another little crack,
Nightmares of the past kept coming back,
All my Hard Work,My Life gone in a blink,
What else could I have done,I just had to think,
I did all that I could,I'm now old and worn,
and all I've got left,is my Porcelain Unicorn...

Here's a Poem to: COUNTER ACT THAT SILLY NEGATIVE STUFF PEOPLE SEND
IN FORWARDED E-MAILS OR BLOGS
On this
Happy New Year Day and through this year...
Do your best to send CHEER...
Remember your molecules CAN hear!
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
It's silly when you think
Your life is in the brink...
When in a single wink,
You CAN feel in the PINK.
So if you spread sad news,
That glibly, speaks of BLUES...
Make resolve to CHOOSE!
Send positive, true MENUS
For life's DELICIOUS stews.
Blessings and love in Tao, Raven

Obama...
So many wanted him to be
Jesus, Buddha, Mohamed and
Every Immortal...
I had hoped his words (that many still admire,)
Penetrated hearts bent on bashing him down.
But now even his friends,
Due to expectations too high mounted,
Have left him. But for what?
Just to be faithless?
Just to be like kids whose
Ice cream splattered from the cone!
Just to be frustrated because
Things materialize with way too much
WORK involved.
Too much time needs to be put in...
Too much strategy needs to be woven.
We, in this age of instant gratification...
Better grow up and learn some faith
In our leaders.
And we best could benefit
If EACH OF US OFFERS TO:
Take a shift driving the bus,
paying the gas, and fixing the flats...
OURSELVES...
