First Trip to Sohan Village

We set up the camp at Sohan village in the afternoon. About eight students from Iqra University and four from NUML University turned up. I was delighted to see them. Six medical doctors were there and about a hundred patients were treated. We discovered that a large number were facing stomach ailments because of drinking contaminated water. It was painful to see infants cry because they were hurting. The doctors were just splendid. They did their very best. I am so pound of them. Our students distributed sweets to the village children who obviously enjoyed the treat a lot. Seeing their delighted faces was the reward of the whole effort. I also realized that this delight was really short-lived as serious health problems remain. I hope we can tackle them soon.
We realized that clean water was a main issue in the village. We hope we can do something real soon to solve the contaminated water problem. It will take much more effort on our part. There is so much misery in Sohan village. I hope we can make a difference there. We plan to hold another camp soon. I hope to attract more medical doctors to the cause. Hats off to the team we have established.

Free Medical Camp at Sohan Village, Islamabad
Faculty and Students of Iqra University and NUML University, have arranged a Free Medical Camp on Saturday 8th May 2010 in Sohan Village. Three lady doctors and three male doctors will be available to serve the community. Free medical checkup, diagnosis and free medicines will be provided to the patients.
Funding for the Free Medical Camp had been generated by the faculty and students of Iqra University and NUML University.
The arrangements were made by the Roshni Foundation. The Free Medical camp will become a monthly event in the Sohan village.
Contributions are most welcome.
