I have been thinking about bears recently. Hibernating seems like quite a natural and sensible thing to do in the cold winter. The homes here in Japan are un insulated and we rely on small stoves to keep a room or two warm. Every morning, I think to myself, arn t bears lucky...but are they?
Sleeping cozy in one s own den, warm and snug, storms passing as if in a dream only to wake to the melting snows, warmer days and spring flowers.
So many bears, sacred bears, mythic bears, bear cults of the Ainu
Grand Ours, petit ours in the stars
polar bear, panda bear
sun bear, moon bear
black bear, brown bear, grizzly bear
koala bear, teddy bear and poo bear
cudly bear, dancing bear and yogi bear
lover of the earth, forest, mountains and rivers....
gourmet apetite of fresh salmon sashimi,
summer berries to intoxicate untill drowsy and then
their long winter nap.
Magical shamman bear
Ancient and wise
is for the most part endangered, their habitat destroyed or occupied by those
with no respect
for
earths treasures
Endangered because they are hunted not only for fur but
livers and paws
Captured and bred, not for the circus but
caged and kept untill they have gone madly insane
sad eyes
lost memories of what they once used
to be

can not seem to download but i recieved a request to stop the fur farms in China. This petition came through facebook. The video is horribel, not only are the little animals skinned alive but its all for the rich people in the west who want their fur coats or trimmings... has anybody else heard about this. The families who do this for a living in China must have nightmares about their so called work.....
