I knew about that atrocity, I read about it some time ago and couldn't believe it. I think it's better not to show any pictures because they are too cruel. As you say, Beatrice, it's incredible that so called civilized people do such atrocities.
Unfortunately in Portugal, my country, there is another atrocity, which is bullfights. Of course many people claim it is a tradition, part of our culture. This is also totally unacceptable and utterly stupid and cruel. Is this the EU?

I just received an e-mail from french friends. I DON'T WANT TO CREATE JUGMENTS ABOUT DANISH PEOPLE. IN FRANCE TOO, SOME PEOPLE HAVE HORRIBLE BEHAVIOR WITH ANIMALS. IT ISN'T A QUESTION OF NATIONALITY, OF COURSE, but a qUestion of CONSCIOUNESS. I only want us to think about what we do to animals and to stop cruelty.
Here is the contents of the e-mail. It's in French (I translated id on my best) but it just show what is done and to think about what "humans" beings are able to do. I hope it will help to stop such a cruely againts animals

BIEN QUE C‡A SEMBLE INCROYABLE, CHAQUE ANNEE, CE MASSACRE BRUTAL ET SANGUINAIRE SE REPRODUIT DANS LES ILES FEROE, QUI APPARTIENNENT AU DANEMARK.
Even though it seems unbelivable, every years, this brutal and bloody slaughter
happens in the Ferroe Islands, belonging to Denemark.

LE DANEMARK, UN PAYS SUPPOSE "CIVILISE", MEMBRE DE L'UNION EUROPENNE. TROP PEU DE PERSONNES SUR TERRE CONNAISSENT CET EVENEMENT HORRIBLE ET DEPOURVU DE SENSIBILITE QUI SE REPETE CHAQUE ANNEE.
Denmark, a supposed "civilized" contry , member of the eurpean union.
Too few people know the horrible and devoid of sensibility event which happens again every year.

CE MASSACRE SANGUINAIRE EST LE FRUIT DE JEUNES HOMMES QUI Y PARTICIPENT POUR DEMONTRER QU'ILS ONT ATTEINT L'AGE ADULTE (!!). C'EST ABSOLUMENT INCROYABLE QUE RIEN NE SOIT FAIT POUR QUE CETTE BARBARIE CESSE.
This bloddy slaughter is made by young men who participate to it to demonstrate that they reach the adult age (!!) It's absolutly incredible that nothing is done to stop this barbarity.
UNE BARBARIE CONTRE LE "CALDERON", UN DAUPHIN SUPER INTELLIGENT ET SOCIABLE QUI FAIT QU'IL S'APPROCHE DES GENS PAR CURIOSITE.
A barbarrity against the "calderon", a super intelligent ans social dolphin who come near human beings by curiosity.
C'EST UNE HONTE
It's a shame !
I don't know how to put the pictures on this site but i can tell you that the are very very hard to see : it's a bay with young men who savagely killed more than 30 dolphins.
I cryied when I saw the pictures.
