Euskal Herria ( Euskadi ) www.euskadi.net

Prehistoric man came to the western foothills of the Pyrenees in search of a place to settle and live. Close to the natural border formed by the mountains that stretch across the land joining the Iberian peninsula to the rest of Europe, he found what he was looking for.

The Basques have lived uninterruptedly in this small region since the beginnings of recorded timBy maintaining their age-old cultural traditions, and keeping their historic identity alive, the Basques provide a link with man’s distant past. Euskara , the Basque language, is probably the oldest surviving language in Europe.

The Basque Country covers a surface area of 20,664 square kilometres at the western end of the Pyrenees on the Bay of Biscay. Today it consists of seven herrialdes , or districts which, for political and administrative purposes, form part of two different European countries: Araba , Bizkaia , Gipuzkoa and Nafarroa are in Spain, and Lapurdi , Zuberoa and Benafarroa are in France.

Three of the Basque Homeland’s seven historic territories, Araba , Bizkaia and Gipuzkoa , in the north of Spain, covering a total surface area of 7,234 square kilometres, are grouped together to form a political unit known as EUSKADI , or the Autonomous Community of the Basque Country.

My poem is

A dove

with one wing

It sprinkles the ashes of the heart

on torn off limbs

......

My poem is

An an amputated hand

With its finger holding on

To the engagement ring

....

My poem is

A bloody lily

groomed and brightened

While being thrown at the coffin

My poem is

Severed limbs

Divided by shells

On the childrens' seats and notebooks of

A school belonging to the UNRWA

My poem is

The eyes of three hundred million

The tears of three hundred million

And the fingers of three hundred million

Waiting to press the trigger

My poem is

A child trying to light

A match

A poem rolled in TNT

On the river Nile

...

My poem is

A swallow with small tearful eyes

Not from the cold

...

My poem is

A missile that has not yet launched

And red circles on the pillows of the quivering

...

My poem is a smashed skull

A plant that digs tunnels

On the stone

....

My poem is

Beautiful Palestine

Divided as the leaves of basil

Amongst the raining clouds

Ahmad, excuses but it is that I do not speak English,
I understand you to them, more or less by the translators of the little flags of above that are very useful, despite I leave surely a bad translation him of Babel Fish here.
This is what it commented to him down:
"Thus it is, unfortunately we walked all very occupied with things like Christmas, or excess of work, estress, or thousand things that serve to us as it excuses to forget as much suffering that there is around. In addition to all that time is joined the factor, that conforms we are taking age is to us robbing the hopes and the faith and that energy that youth has. But all means are good to contribute our sand granite, with our aid in the form that is, or informing into the things that happen and that do not tell means us in all their dimension.
Peace"

(I hope that jaja has not left any barbarism)
