A story that I read is relevant.

A woman baked chapatti (roti) for members of her family and an extra one for a hungry passerby. She kept the extra chapatti on the window sill, for whosoever would take it away. Every day, a hunchback came and took away the chapatti.

Instead of expressing gratitude, he muttered the following words as he went his way:

"The evil you do remains with you: The good you do, comes back to you!"

This went on, day after day. Every day, the hunchback came, picked up the chapatti and uttered the words: "The evil you do, remains with you: The good you do, comes back to you!"
The woman felt irritated. "Not a word of gratitude," she said to herself...

"Everyday this hunchback utters this jingle! What does he mean?"

One day, exasperated, she decided to do away with him. "I shall get rid of this hunchback," she said. And what did she do? She added poison to the chapatti she prepared for him! As she was about to keep it on the window sill, her hands trembled. "What is this I am doing?" she said. Immediately, she threw the chapatti into the fire, prepared another one and kept it on the window sill. As usual, the hunchback came, picked up the chapatti and muttered the words:

"The evil you do, remains with you: The good you do, comes back to you!"

The hunchback proceeded on his way, blissfully unaware of the war raging in the mind of the woman.

Every day, as the woman placed the chapatti on the window sill, she offered a prayer for her son who had gone to a distant place to seek his fortune. For many months, she had no news of him.. She prayed for his safe return. That evening, there was a knock on the door. As she opened it, she was surprised to find her son standing in the doorway. He had grown thin and lean. His garments were tattered and torn. He was hungry, starved and weak. As he saw his mother, he said, "Mom, it's a miracle I'm here. While I was but a mile away, I was so famished that I collapsed. I would have died, but just then an old hunchback passed by. I begged of him for a morsel of food, and he was kind enough to give me a whole chapatti. As he gave it to me, he said, "This is what I eat everyday: today, I shall give it to you, for your need is greater than mine!" " As the mother heard those words, her face turned pale.

She leaned against the door for support. She remembered the poisoned chapatti that she had made that morning. Had she not burnt it in the fire, it would have been eaten by her own son, and he would have lost his life! It was then that she realized the significance of the words:

"The evil you do remains with you: The good you do, comes back to you!"

Do good and Don't ever stop doing good, even if it is not appreciated at that time.

Every morning, before leaving the inn which they happened to have put up for the night, the merchant would count his money quite openly and then put it into his pocket. At night the merchant went to sleep seemingly without suspicion. While he was asleep the thief would frantically search through all the belongings of the merchant without being able to find the money. After several nights of frustrating searching, the thief finally in resignation confessed to the merchant his true intention and pleaded with him to tell him how he was able to hide his money so successfully. The merchant replied casually: "I knew from the very beginning what you were up to. So, every night I placed the money under YOUR pillow. Dear All,

A hungry man comes home. He has so many diseases in his body that only a very few foods are non-allergic to him, given the amount of medication he is taking. In addition he has his own likes and dislikes in the matter of food. One has to feed him to satisfy his hunger, and at the same time, give him that food that tastes well to his taste buds, does no harm to his health and does not affect any medication that he is taking. Nama Kirtan is that spiritual diet that can be taken by anyone and everyone in this Kali Yuga

---- SRI. SRI.MURALIDHARA SWAMIJI

------------------------
One can attribute the law of Karma for the grown up adults inflicted by deadly diseases like cancer, But how one can explain innocent children getting this deadly disease?

Sri Sri Muralidhara Swamiji:

Everything in this world happens according to the Karma. Children get afflicted with deadly diseases like cancer because of their Karmas in their previous births.
----------------------------------
A lot of disciples yearn to perform service to the Guru, but only a few get the opportunity. What is the solution for the rest?

Sri Sri Muralidhara Swamiji:

By serving those who serve the Guru, one fetches the same merit as serving the Guru directly.
--------------------------------------
Have you seen God?

Sri Sri Muralidhara Swamiji:

God has seen me!
--------------------------------------
If a person's life is according to his Past Conditioning / destiny, How can a guru help him?

Sri Sri Muralidhara Swamiji:

We may have taken thousands of births and committed millions of sins. No matter how colossal that figure maybe, it is unquestionably well within the realm of the finite. Guru's boundless grace though, is immeasurable, limitless and infinite.

The tapas (Penance) and grace of the Sadguru can make up for his Karmas and takes him to the path of liberation quicker.
-----------------------------------------
Why is that, a rose has fragrance even though it has thorns, while there are flowers which do not have fragrance at all?

Sri Sri Muralidhara Swamiji:

By this God wishes to teach us a very beautiful and important lesson. Just because we are able to acquire something without much of an effort, it is not essentially a great thing, and just because we face some hardships while trying to acquire something, it does not diminish its value one bit!

A person wins a million dollars in a lottery. Do you think he would ever enjoy the satisfaction that is experienced by the one who sweated it out to make a penny? Definitely not! Because the latter knows the effort that has gone into the whole exercise. Sweeter indeed is the fruit that is plucked with a lot of effort from the highest branch.
-------------------------------------------
Even though I believe in God, I struggle a lot. Does my fate play such an important role in my life?

Sri Sri Muralidhara Swamiji:

One has to believe that the Lord exists. But it should not stop there. One should have total faith in Him and invoke His divine grace by chanting the Maha Mantra. In that state, the fate will not matter anymore.
-----------------------------------------
We long for a female child. We are planning to adopt a female child instead of giving birth to one, as there are so many orphans in our country. Is it right according to our religion?

Sri Sri Muralidhara Swamiji:

There are innumerable rules and regulations laid out by the religion that we are unable to follow in this age, in order to make our living comfortable. You intention is noble and benefits the society on the whole. This viewpoint is more important. The Lord will always be with you and bless your family.
------------------------------------
On some days, the moment I wake up, I have divine thoughts, and am immersed in the same bliss all through the day. On other days, I feel dry and empty – I feel deserted and am not able to think of the Lord. Why does this happen? What is the way out?

Sri Sri Muralidhara Swamiji:

One some days, our body is very energetic to work, and on other days, its tired, isn’t it? The same is applicable for the mind too.

Chanting certain specific 'bheejakshara' mantras as an upaasana (Practice) without proper initiation is dangerous; performing breath-control practices on one's own or taught by amateur masters is dangerous; similarly, analyzing the mind without Devotion also leads to a lot of confusion.

Believe in the grace of God as you take your life forward. Express your feelings to God with humility and love – that is real prayer. Continue to pour out your devotion to God and pray sincerely for his grace. With patience and perseverance in this spiritual practice, you will slowly realize that God is always with you.
---------------------------------
A person thinks that God is always with him physically and mentally -- God is eating, sleeping, talking and walking along with him.It is just an imagination. There is nothing called real divine experience. Am I not right?

Sri Sri Muralidhara Swamiji:

Initially it is an imagination. This imagination is called Bhava Bhakti (devotion of Feeling). It is very rare to attain this state. This imagination becomes true one day. Then it is called Sakshatkara (Realization). This is the Real Experience, and is the rarest of the rarest.
---------------------------------------
Regards & Chant the Maha Mantra:
Hare Rama Hare Rama Rama Rama Hare Hare
Hare Krishna Hare Krishna Krishna Krishna Hare Hare
Pl visit: http://www.namadwaar.org/home.php Ramana Maharshi about nature of happiness.....tag:ipeace.us,2011-01-08:2217368:Topic:27399632011-01-08T01:19:27.754Z❀●✿*Soul❀Flower*✿●❀https://ipeace.us/profile/Hippiness

Dear All,

Good evening to all of u and have a divine blessed day ahead …..

Spirituality is clearing cobwebs, nothing else. Not changing the world making Utopia because the world is already Utopia, because it is only our father.

Nothing can be more perfect than our Father. Spirituality helps us to see as they are.

When we came things were as they are when we leave things will be as they are. But probably along our life we may come to see things as they are. That is spirituality. Not to change .Nothing can be changed. When we see the entire world as the “Father” even as an imagination it is real. But now, as an intermediate step we are countering one imagination with another imagination.

Once Swami Vivekananda was asked a question, “You say everything is Father; You say keep repeating that you are everything, you are the lord. Are you not doing self hypnosis?

He said No. I am doing self de-hypnosis. That is, you are all God only. But now you are hypnotized to think that you are not Gods. I have to de-hypnosis you. So I am doing de-hypnosis and not Hypnosis.

Dear all,

Good evening to all of u and have a divine blessed New Year 2011 ahead …..

If we take a look at the world around us, we have a million reasons to be proud about, as the amazing human race. After all, have we not landed on the Moon? Have we not sent Pathfinder to Mars? Gene-mapping and cloning have become a reality. Hats off to the exponential progress made in the realm of science!

Nevertheless, if we contemplate for a moment on the question, "Have all these advancements made life happier and more peaceful than before?", what rejoinder do we get? A quick, unambiguous "NO!" If we were to assume that intellectual, cultural and scientific backwardness was the reason behind the tribal, cavemen and other men of the past fighting with each other, how do we explain the situation prevailing today?

In the age when we claim to be at the peak of intellectual and cultural refinement, the incidence of violence and war is on the rise, globally. We expect all these developments to nullify differences, break all walls, wipe out boundaries and take us to universal brotherhood. On the
contrary, what is happening is an increase in the number of countries! – more and more boundaries are being demarcated. Countries are breaking down from more countries. Instead of integration into one powerful, peaceful society, there is only disintegration all the time, in the name of race, religion and language.

How can we achieve that integration? Down the ages, there have been numerous thinkers, revolutionaries, leaders and organizations who have worked towards that goal and yet their efforts have not produced sustained results because they have all tried to bring about unity
through changes in the external world and society. Any external transformation is never long-lasting.

So, Universal brotherhood and peace can never be brought about by power, force or scientific advancement.

The only solution is inner transformation – a change in the tendency of every single person and the only way to achieve it is through spirituality. To achieve this, we need not change our lifestyle; we need not go to another place; we need not renounce anything; there is no dress code or any such formality; we can go to work; go to school and live as usual and yet bring about 'UNIVERSAL BROTHERHOOD'. How is that possible?

Indian culture is one of the most ancient cultures of the world and it is globally acknowledged that our Scriptures and the great Rishis have accurately predicted the course of the world and future. Thousands of years ago, foreseeing the troubled times ahead, they have shown the remedy which is the Maha Mantra found in the Kali Santarana Upanishad –

"Hare Rama Hare Rama Rama Rama Hare Hare |
Hare Krishna Hare Krishna Krishna Krishna Hare Hare ||"

Not only do we believe in the Scriptures and the great Rishis, but it has been found that all have experienced the inner transformation, bliss and joy even while chanting this Maha Mantra. Having tasted the divine nectar called 'Hare Rama…', we wish to share the joy with one and all,
through Nama -'Nama Dwaar'. "Nama means Name And Dwaar means Way"

On this New Year's Day, we all pledge solemnly to work towards Universal peace through the Maha Mantra.

"Hare Rama Hare Rama Rama Rama Hare Hare |
Hare Krishna Hare Krishna Krishna Krishna Hare Hare ||"
