This group's purpose is to organize and mobilize aid (food, clothing, medicine) and raise money for the children of Gaza.

This is an action group. Your donation and contribution is welcome.

In facebook, where we are raising money, the beneficiary is currently MERCY CORPS a 501(c)(3) nonprofit

In 25 years of experience on the ground, Mercy Corps has learned that communities recovering from war or social upheaval must be the agents of their own transformation for change to endure. It's only when communities set their own agendas, raise their own resources, and implement programs themselves, that their first successes result in the renewed hope, confidence and skills to continue development independently.

Description: Since 1979, Mercy Corps has provided $1 billion in assistance to people in 82 nations. Supported by headquarters offices in North America, Europe, and Asia, the agency's unified global programs employ 2,700 staff worldwide and reach nearly 10 million people in more than 40 countries.

Mercy Corps pursues its mission through emergency relief services that assist people afflicted by conflict or disaster; through sustainable community development that integrates agriculture, health, housing and infrastructure, economic development, education and environment, and local management; and through civil society initiatives that promote citizen participation, accountability, conflict management, and the rule of law.

A letter from Mercy Corp:

Thank you so much for thinking of Mercy Corps for your donations.

First of all, if your cause does choose to give the donations to Mercy Corps, I can assure you that all of that money will go to our programs in Gaza. We keep track of the individual causes that donate to Mercy Corps via Facebook to ensure that all funds go to the appropriate programs.

That being said, the majority of Mercy Corps' Gaza recovery programs target children. Our staff on the ground has found that the psychological toll on civilians, particularly children, has been enormous. Mercy Corps is in the process of transforming our psychosocial programs to address the specific needs of Gazan youth.

Currently, we are also working to help families with damaged homes to gain access to clean water and better shelter. We continue our work to distribute emergency relief items to 100,000 Gazans in need, but have shifted our focus to helping civilians rebuild their lives in the long term. In total, Mercy Corps has raised more than $2 million and secured $500K worth of material goods to support our efforts.

All of our Gazan recovery programs help children directly through the rebuilding of schools, food, shelter, and psychosocial programs -- or indirectly by helping parents rebuild homes and livelihoods.

Many thanks for thinking of us for your donations. Please let me know if I can answer any additional questions for you. Also, you can check out the latest Mercy Corps Gaza updates here: http://www.mercycorps.org/gazacrisis/

Dear All my Friends in IPeace,

Thanks for your standing near me in the last Massacre in these days one year ago.
I was going around to find electricity generator , So i can find internet in the night!
It was so dangerous to walk in the streets, amd to carry bag with laptop inside it !
I remember one time i was walking in the street when iam going to any house to find Internet and Electricity in it when i don,t know them , but it,s my duty to give some from the information, that time several times I felt some one from the sky or some tanks or snipers shoot near my head, but i never scared because i knew that time that some people have to listen to my story and my belove Gazan people Story!
I remember my house without bread and we are trying to find solution in the middle of the explosions them my uncle told us , that he want to go outside the house and bring for us bread but he went outside and didn,t come back until now, We are still waiting for his bread" the youngest son for my uncle until now believe that his father will come back soon, but my uncle killed by big rockets when he was coming back from place where he found bread in it and they killed him because of the bread Bomb which he had it in his hands that time.Iam so sorry my uncle but this is Israeli government Peace that,s time , or the most democracy country in the world decision by the second democracy country USA bombs which most of the Bombs which have been thrown that time made in USA!

I don,t remember that we slept that time for some minutes because all the time we have to escape from Area to area because my house near the mosques and that,s so dangerous to live near the mosques , So most of my times, I slept in the streets and my sisters was living in my neighbor house! and The story will not finish with Israel until we can let this Israeli Leaders to know what,s the meaning of Peace and Justice!
And how can they deal with Palestinian Human or any human !

Hope that you can share this story with your friends and tell them that Obama during the lat massacre didn,t speak and he was silent looking at the Palestinians when they killed more than 1400 persons from my beloved people , most of them are children , they don,t have hearts, and 6000 injured ! I think we are waiting more from the Israeli Government and we still dreaming of Peace and Justice!

Roses for the Children of Gaza

The day before yesterday my dear friend Majed Abusalama told me that he really wanted to do more for the children of Gaza...

He is doing his best in Gaza since a long time... he had already organized so many humanitarian projects that many people there, I'm sure, see Majed as a marvellous Light...
Like the SUN, when Majed is around, children and adults are illuminated by his Kindness, his Smile, his Presence and they can count on him, because he always brings materialized Love to share with all people he meets... He is like an Angel... He is a Human Angel...

Sometimes he brings soft toy animals and colouring crayons and paper, sometimes he brings medications and something to eat, sometimes he organizes sport & music camps, and many activites more...
Anyway each time Majed is around, it is a "party" (like it can be in a country where the superfluous is not known) for the children, and also for the adults that are around...

This time Majed asked my help because he wanted to organize one complete meal per day (there are people in Gaza that do not even have more than a piece of bread, and sometimes they share this between many, too many of them) for children who do not have anything and their families...
One Family there counts many children, many more than in Europe or Usa...

So I begun to think about how to organize an effective help in raising some money for these children...
And yesterday evening I had the inspiration...
When I was a child, during the creativity Hour in School, I had the chance to learn how to create a wonderful Rose with a simple scarf and some other small stuff...
It is something simple but of much effect!
And because I'm a creative person I begun to create one Rose in each colour of the Rainbow... then I decided to find more shades, and I create many more Roses of many different shades of the Rainbow...

I've decided to offer this gift to my friends and collegues in exchange of CHF 25.- (more and less 25.- Us Dollars)... 5.- cover the materials' cost and 20.- will be for buying meals for the children in Gaza...
People are happy because they receive a nice Rose, and they feel helpful because they can offer something sure to children in need...

Each time I sell a Rose, 3 kids will have a whole meal served in this difficult time of Ramadan and also afterwards...
Everything is so expensive in Palestine... I hope we will collect enough money for many, many children to receive worthy meals.

That's fantastic, and it can continue for a while (Now, I only have to find time regularly to create more Roses...)
