To the Honourable Kevin Rudd, Prime Minister of Australia

Dear Mr Rudd,
As you are fully aware, the long-standing conflict between the States of Palestine and Israel has once again escalated into organised warfare. Hundreds of innocent civilians have been killed over the past few days, and neither ‘side’ appears to be willing to take on ceasefire.
Israel has announced its intentions to ‘change the face’ of the region. Hamas has announced its intention to resume ‘martyrdom’ tactics and will obviously attack and defend using those methods of warfare available to it. There seems to be no immediate end to the Violence
The UN has denounced this Violence, while the US states that ‘Israel has the right to defend itself’. Israel has taken on a role far exceeding simple self-defence, and for this reason it is time for your good self to represent the majority of Australians who aspire to peace, and publicly denounce Israel for its ignorance of World opinion and the Violent tactics in use by both sides of the conflict.
There are a number of ways described here in increasing level of expression, that your Administration should consider adopting over this issue. These are primarily aimed at Israel, due to their expression of aggressive intention.

- A public announcement denouncing the War and all forms of institutionalised Violence.
- A public announcement disconnecting Australia from the US policy over the War.
- A personal letter from yourself to President elect Obama asking for a review of the US policy over the War, and the long-standing conflict.
- A personal letter from yourself to the Israeli and Hamas administrations requesting a ceasefire, in support of the UN announcement.
- An Address at the UN General Assembly stating Australia’s stand against the War.
- If Israel continues to remain belligerent over the concerns held by most of Humanity, punitive action should be considered. The formal pathway here is to sever diplomatic ties with Israel through expulsion of the Israeli Ambassador from Australian shores. If the US remains firm in its support of Israel, similar action must be considered toward our political ties with the US.

Only under these actions can the majority of Australian opinion over the War be truly represented..

Kind Regards,

Scott Wilkie,

World Without Wars Australia.

To share compassion to persons and Earth are now soffering under bomb, we may sign a www.avaaz.org petition :
GAZA: STOP THE BLOODSHED, TIME FOR PEACE
now is the time to issue a demand to world leaders that the spiraling violence that has characterized the Israeli-Palestinian conflict must come to an end.

Sign the petition below calling for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza - and for peace to be achieved between Israel and Palestine in 2009.

Petition to the UN Security Council, the European Union, the Arab League and the USA:
We urge you to act immediately to ensure a comprehensive ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, to protect civilians on all sides, and to address the growing humanitarian crisis. Only through robust international action and oversight can the bloodshed be stopped, the Gaza crossings safely re-opened and real progress made toward a wider peace in 2009.
Sign the petition:

Imagine there's no religion but spirituality where we're all connected someone should take the place of John Lennon he was a modern day Jesus.
I'm more concern with Indonesia and the rain forest and the poverty in neighbouring islands like Phillipines I live in Singapore we should have a union like Europe all Asean countries with Australia leading it...???yes no? feedback

Dear all,

Were it just up to the people here, the world might might well be a very peaceful and wonderful and wonder full place. For many, it is not.

To discuss this, please go the discussion: What we we do to make our region more peaceful?

Thanks...

Dear Ben, I have great respect for ALL religions, and was born and raised in a christian home, Mum teaching sunday school and Dad was minister.! Just couldn't really get my head around it as I grew older...it is a belief and blind faith, which can never be proved or disproved. If having an imaginary friend, brings peace and happiness, I'm all for it! As long as that same imaginary friend isn't used as a shield, or excuse for hatred...as you rightly say by zealots...people who have no gods, tend to be calmer as their isn't anything to be zealous about..haha...and much more respectful to others' way of thinking! Some get very upset if you don't believe what they believe, even little old ladies!!! I was taught to respect everyone and I live my life that way, as you obviously do~lovely to meet you Ben~peace & love to you always~hugs Angie x♥

I love the song Imagine. I love what John Lennon stood for.

Sadly religious zealots throughout history have caused much suffering to humanity.

And yet I was born into a religious tradition and it has influenced my life, as many of us are. Just as I was born into a culture and live in a country.

People kill for money and greed, people kill for power and ego, people kill out of fear and hatred, people kill for ideologies, so how do we stop the killing? Get rid of all these money, greed, power, ego, fear etc. - or, do we learn to live with each other in peace by spreading love and good will to people of all religions and no religion, to people of all nationalities and no nationality.

Surely the issue is not what we believe but how we behave, how we act towards each other, how we relate to each other?

I'm not sure how hating religion is a path to peace?

Surely peace comes from love? John Lennon sang songs about love - like: "All you need is love!"
