Non-violent Communication

“What I want in my life is compassion, a flow between myself and others based on a mutual giving from the heart.” by Marshall B. Rosenberg

First time, a friend of mine, Jeremy Lack from Geneva, told me about Non-violent Communication. It was almost two years ago. And a nice coinciedence happened when I came back to Turkey; I heard about a training on this matter. I took part in that. Since then, Non-violent Communication is part of our Mediation Training Programme.

I wanted to introduce this wonderful approach to ipeace members who are interested in communication with the Self first, then to others...Because like Peace starts first within ourselves and spreads further, or love, compassion, joy...So is communication.

The Dephoi had the right words: Know the Self.

The Non-violent communication is a great tool to reach our own needs, express them clearly and listen others and bring out their needs, too. That's the necessary step for mutual understanding.

I welcome you in this group for another step for Peace.

Compassionate Communication Circle

The Compassionate Communication Circle is an ongoing conversation focused on developing a practice of Nonviolent Communication (NVC).

NVC is a method that uses mindfulness and the language of the heart to
strengthen our connection with ourselves and with others. As a group, we will develop fluency in empathy, harmony, and mutual respect. Growth will be supported in a safe and accepting space that is challenging, playful, and transformative.

We will learn to:
Be centered, calm, and empathic in conflicts translate old conditioned labels and judgments into feelings and needs for mutual connection andsatisfying solutions

Practice the principle: Peace On Earth Begins With Me

Transform conflicts peacefully through discovering our common ground.

Respect political, religious, cultural, racial and other differences and work toward bridging divides on our planet cultivate a unity consciousness which supports us to discover the “common unity” in “community”

When: Tuesdays, 5:30 PM to 7:30, starting Feb. 10
Wednesdays, 10:00 AM to 12:00, starting Feb. 11

You are welcome to join us at any session you can! There is no ongoing commitment necessary.

A tribute to all women for March 8
Namaste

Goddess Woman of the Elements

Within you is the power
To be all you want to be
Yours is the right to discover
To see all that you wish to see.
You make the ultimate choices
To achieve what you want to achieve,
Yours is the only decision
That guides yours thoughts and beliefs.
There is a world you have to experience
There are emotions you must go through,
But through all you have to remember
The ultimate decision is made by you.
You have the spirit within
You have the power in you
The goddess within is the spirit
The ultimate power is you.

You are knowledge
You are joy, You are love
You are power. You are powerful.
You hold in your hand
the ability to recognize yourself,
the ability to realise your fullest potential.
Goddess Woman of the Elements, know yourself.

mdl-1/2009 - Rodeo Beach, San Francisco. It only takes a moment each day, or on somedays, each moment to cleanse my mind and renew my thoughts, which is the core of my heart and soul. This is peace on earth. Blessings, Shells

"May all beings everywhere, with whom we are inseparably interconnected, be fulfilled, awakened and free. May there be peace in this world and throughout the entire universe, and may we all together complete the spiritual journey."

There is an Arab proverb that says, "the camel do not see a bump", the non-violent communication is a necessity for us all and should be spread because, around us we see people every day for a yes or a no, they s'énervent communicate with and violence and sometimes vehemently, for example to give way, in large cities, car drivers are sometimes very violent them ....
Excused translation because I am very weak in English

Well friends, difficult because it is hard to talk to ourselves especially when the title is, need. We are either not aware of our own needs or aware but not able to express. That's what non-violent communication is all about: To be aware and to express the needs.

And to observe, without any judgement, is relatively difficult; we so much get used to be clever!!! To be simple, takes time...

But very joyful.
