When it comes to peace, how would you describe yourself?: I feel the pain in the world

What do you believe are the 'burning issues' today?: Other

So what is it?: People today can't even accept themselves and in many cases don't even like who they are. I believe this mindset can be debilitating.

What must we overcome to achieve peace?: Fear

More: People are afraid to look within their hearts and minds. I believe they are afraid to face the things that they need to change or enhance. In essence, they are afraid to embrace and love themselves. It starts with acceptance of their religion, self acceptance, self love, self empowerment. Once this level of self acceptance is acheived so many doors of opportunity to help others open in abundance!

Can we change the world?: Definitely

More about me: My name is Annette Moore. I am a motivational speaker and founder of a social network called Accept Me As I Am.

I was inspired to create a social network called ACCEPT ME AS I AM because of my very own story of self acceptance. I struggled with accepting what I looked like due to the fact that I am completely bald because of being diagnosed with alopecia. Alopecia is an autoimmune disease that causes severe hair loss. In my case the condition is permanent.

After the negative thoughts and effects concerning my condition negatively affected my quality of life, I decided that I didn't need to live this way anymore. Accepting my new found hairless look caused me to research and share my condition with others. As a result I began to connect with people like myself who were able to put a postitive spin on their lives. It was then that I also met others who were struggling like myself. After connecting with them by just sharing my stuggles, they began to heal. Next, a funny thing began to happen. I, in turn, began to heal. I realized that a circle of self acceptance and empowerment was created. I realized the power in making these types of relationships and began reaching out to more people and experts like medical professionals, authors, thereapists, health gurus and self-help experts. Things took an even more unexpected twist, I began to receive emails from people who felt that my hairless story inspired them to accept things, changes, adversities in their lives which had absolutely nothing to do with alopecia. Now an even bigger circle of empowement has been formed at ACCEPT ME AS I AM.

IF YOU DON'T ACCEPT WHO YOU ARE THEN HOW CAN YOU EXPECT OTHERS TO DO THE SAME?

Not accepting yourself is one of the most debilitating things you can do to yourself.
