When it comes to peace, how would you describe yourself?
I am a born activist
What do you believe are the 'burning issues' today?
War, Hunger, Poverty, Education, Our Planet, Violence, Inflation, Human Rights
So what is it?
most of the above, spiced with too much greed and not enough compassion!!
What must we overcome to achieve peace?
Other

religion is an obstacle, so is fear and prejudice that are mostly brought about by lack of information, especally objective information (in so much as it exists). education, freedom, access to information (the wild web!), the broadening of horizons and the shift of focus from "we" (the mad and violent mob calling for jihad or death to arabs or whatever it may be) to "me" (do i really belive in all this? do i want to sacrifice my children, myself, my freedom, for a pile of rocks or anything for that matter?), and then back to "we" (once i've taken care of myself, opened my eyes, built a better and more hopeful future for my family, i can start caring for my community, for my culture, for the way i interact with others and for their well-being as well, realizing we are all one great, intricate, beautiful human chain).
Can we change the world?
Definitely

noa's peace plan for the middle east

Posted on February 19, 2009 at 4:18pm 4 Comments

3 steps:

1. RECOGNIZE-

Each side must recognize the rights of the other to life, freedom, independence, identity, the right to flourish, the right to a peaceful existence. This is the first and critical stage for the plan. Without formal recognition, in writing, signed by the recognized leaders of each nation, no progress can be made.

2. APOLOGIZE-

Both sides have done horrible things to each other in the name of this and that ideal. Since the… Continue

A message from Noa at the onset of her Spanish tour, Feb, 2009

Dear friends,

In the spirit of freedom and democracy i support the right of people to demonstrate wherever is legally possible. i also support the right of non Spanish or non catholic minorities to live in Spain enjoying equal rights. i have always expected the same attitude from the Arabs and Muslims towards the Jewish people and its right to live in freedom, security and self expression in Israel since it was founded and recognized, and anywhere else for that… Continue

how deep are you willing to go? how much do you really care? the sad balancing act

Posted on January 27, 2009 at 4:14pm 5 Comments

Dearest friends,

Here i am again.

The war is over (for now), the bombs have stopped for the moment.

I am feeling sad, my heart is heavy, i juggle desperation and tentative hope.

I spend many sleepless nights in front of the computer screen looking for answers, for information, for knowledge.

Sometimes i read things that open my eyes.

I read an interview with doctors from Gaza who spoke to Italian journalists and claim the death toll is… Continue

philosophy from my musical partner Gil Dor, deep and interesting, i agree with every word.

to all our friends and foes wherever you may be

"Stop the war! War is bad! War is immoral! we seek justice! we want peace!"

well then, what's the problem? why does it never stop???

WAR

war is an outbreak of violence as result of subjective assessment of threats. this is true regardless of the type of conflict.

in nature we can see patterns of conflicts of the following types: predator vs. prey which is all about food. or predator vs.… Continue

hello all.

about a week ago i posted a letter to my palestinian brothers everywhere.

in my original letter, i was very harsh in my words regarding Hamas. I was pointing a finger at them clearly, this came from my gut, from the deepest, most hurting place in my heart. The reason i did that, is that the horrible stories i have heard about Hamas from my Palestinian friends who used to live in Gaza (and escaped, barely, from death by Hamas), plus the videos on youtube of hamas… Continue

I am here on iPeace and would be glad if you might come to visit. I would be grateful if I might include your beautiful song on my peace card site - Shalom, Noa and with my appreciation for all that you do

please confirm my friendship request:

b>IN HONOR OF THE ARTS

A person living a dream
is not waging a nightmare.

A person playing music
is not committing murder.
A person writing a poem
is not killing anyone.
A person reading a book
is not discharging a weapon.
A person painting a picture
is not spilling blood.

Somebody sculpting stone
is not polluting the earth
with another premature corpse.
To plant a garden
is not to practice rape.
To pray at dawn
is not a crime against creation.

Turn aside and look into your soul.

Not into the darkness
you have inherited from history,
but into the light coming your way
from the love of God. To humbly bow down
in the posture of mystical weeping
is to vanquish the phantoms of hatred and fear.
Everything involves a holiness in the heart;
everyone is involved in making choices.
What a difference

between the pornographers of aggression
and the artists of compassion!

Go to the place
where life embraces otherness;
enter the dialogue of becoming human.
Have you even considered
how healing the wounds of a stranger
creates laughter in children
and orchards in angels?

A person reading these words
feels like a summer cloud
floating without effort on the mirror of a river.
Tell the truth now:
Isn’t that good?

A person
deep into the ecology of blessing
remembers the taste of wild honey
while protesting the politics of war.
Tell the truth
now: Isn’t it better to create
than to destroy?

When the DreamMaker first
introduced the DNA of dreaming
it was called Eden.
Naming took place
in the ecstasy of love.

Now tell the truth:
Isn’t peace the most
precious art?
What is more defining
than the compassion of our vulnerability?
PeaceMaker – tell me:
What is your name?
