What do you believe are the 'burning issues' today?: War, Hunger, Poverty, Education, Our Planet, Violence, Human Rights, Our Shrinking Freedom

More: Organised religion, rather than personal spiritual experience and growth, appears to have a long history associated with divisions between people from the same and different nations. Much killing and war has been waged in the name of 'god'. Religion usually serves to promote being unaccepting and critically judgemental of others rather promoting peace and tolerance.

More about me: I am a middle age government social worker and performing singer songwriter guitarist. I value art, creativity, music and social interaction. Of course, my family, partner, children are all important to me and so is all of humanity and our natural world. I often find it hard not to feel ashamed of being a human being considering the extent of human ability to destroy, kill and pollute. Greed and religion appear to be two of the biggest factors in the negative side of the human condition. I don't believe in either!
