When it comes to peace, how would you describe yourself?: I feel the pain in the world

What do you believe are the 'burning issues' today?: War, Hunger, Poverty, Education, Our Planet, Violence, Inflation, Human Rights, Our Shrinking Freedom, Other

So what is it?: The world is engulfed in flames TODAY even more than it was during the time of the Blessed Advent of the Divine Preceptor, GURU NANAK (1469-1539) in India. In consonance with his Divine-Calling, GURU NANAK, The Prophet of Unity of All Humankind, invested twenty seven long years of his seventy-year sojourn on this planet, going on his Global Holy Tours, preaching the Divine, Eternal and Universal Truths of equality, liberty, justice, humility, acceptance, reverence, amity, peace and harmony. GURU NANAK saw in his deep, meditative trance that the entire earth was ablaze with hatred, prejudice, intolerance, bigotry, superstition, hollow ritualism, and so he set out on his world tour to remind humanity of the lessons of peace.

What must we overcome to achieve peace?: Other

More: It is NOT "religion" (per se, i.e. the various religious teachings, faiths, beliefs, traditions, cultures) BUT the distorted, biased, prejudiced view OR misinterpretaion of religious teachings OR sheer ignorance OR (sometimes) even deliberate hatred (originating from a sense of misplaced supremacy (on account of race, ethnicity, religion, lineage, caste, creed, culture, nationality, power, authority, gender, education, economic status).

Can we change the world?: Definitely

More about me: I am an ordinary servant of GURU NANAK,
The Prophet of Unity of All Humankind.

As a recipient of the "Ambassador~For~Peace" Award, presented by The Inter~Religious & International Federation of World Peace, New York (Affiliated to, and recognized by the United Nations) my PASSION lies
in being a Peace~Worker, an Inter~Faith Orator, Event Organizer and Multi~Faith Co-ordinator. I address Holy Congregations at Houses Of Worship of all religions, and also make presentations at educational institutions and at events hosted by organizations.
I'm also a Community~Activist, and I love to Volunteer for several non~profit organizations. I have organized bone-marrow drives, serving leukemia patients.

I'm a Researcher, Writer & Poet, Freelance Journalist, Translator & Interpreter, Commissioned Writer and Motivational Speaker.
With God's Grace, I have a dexterous command over spoken and written English, Hindi, Punjabi languages and in spoken Urdu.

RELIGION & SPIRITUALITY, CULTURE & NATIONALITY :
I'm an adherent of SIKHISM (SIKH religion).
Yet, I'm more spiritual than religious.
Born and raised in New Delhi (India) I'm an Indian Citizen.
Studied in Christian institutions in India.

SIKHISM :
The Founder of SIKHISM is GURU NANAK (1469-1539).
GURU NANAK preached and lived the message of :
One God of All, One God for All, One God in All.
GURU NANAK's 9th successor (i.e. the tenth GURU of the SIKHs)
GURU GOBIND SINGH (1666-1708) commanded his followers thus :
"Recognize The Entire Human Race As ONE".
Since the year 1708, the Eternal GURU of the Sikhs is GURU GRANTH SAHIB (The Holy Scripture).
The year 2008 commemorated the Tercentennial of the Sacred Scripture.
SIKH GURUS emphasized upon REVERENCE for ALL Prophets and ALL Scriptures of ALL religions, while enjoying the birthright and freedom of following one's own heart in practicing a religion of one's calling / choice.
The TITLE of GURU means : an ENLIGHTENED spiritual Master.
The word SIKH means : a perpetual LEARNER for the entire LIFETIME;
a DISCIPLE / FOLLOWER of The Guru;

My humble views on The Almighty Creator and His Creations :
GOD, the Omniscient, Omnipotent, Omnipresent ONE is worshipped in innumerable ways and remembered by infinite Hallowed Names, yet God is ONLY ONE, and NOT many or different for people of diverse races, religions, regions, cultures.
HUMANS :
Have close friends and associates hailing from various religions, races, cultures.
I love PEOPLE; I love interaction with ALL people; I am a Peoples' Person. And from them I learn about the commonalities and similarities amongst people of various backgrounds, and how we can ALL work in tandem, despite some so-called "DIFFERENCES" of race, religion, region, colour, culture, appearance (attire, headgear), language etc.
IF we do NOT communicate with each other, we REMAIN ignorant about the other; THEN we become FEARFUL or we generate HATRED or BOTH of these are BORN. Also, WHEN we try to dominate and subjugate another, there starts WAR leading to bloodshed, misery, orphans, widows and the never-ending war of hatred continues, UNABATED, for generations and centuries.

Ziggy put his paws over his floppy black ears. He knew what was coming. He knew the Professor was ready to launch into one of his long tirades and he couldn't bear to hear it. It was just too painful for his sensitive ears. He had heard there were places on the earth that were messed up. Word had gotten around. His friends had told him. The birds, who traveled back and forth through the seasons, flying everywhere over water and land, had seen it. Bird told Rabbit. Rabbit had been frightened when he told the gentle deer. And Deer had told Ziggy. Something awful was happening in these places called cities.

The squirrels were gathering more nuts than they needed, afraid there wouldn't be any more trees. Their friends the frogs were disappearing and no one knew why. They needed the frogs! They're the ones who sing to the thunder being. Their song brings on the rain.

Everyone was talking about it. They told Ziggy the problem was his friends, the humans. They were taking up more space than the Great Universal Source had allotted them. Turtle said the humans should learn to slow down and look around. Snake said some of their poisons would wake them up soon enough. Spider said not to worry. The humans had created a web and gotten caught in it. But some of them would see their way out. They could see the light, the weaving of the whole universe. And after all, even flying insects knew to go to the light, didn't they?
