We Can Change

Posted on January 25, 2009 at 4:00pm 0 Comments

Barack Obama's candidacy and election have provided inspiration for all of us. The week of the election, I started thinking about the word CHANGE, and realized that if I stacked it on three lines, I could extract the word CAN from it just by changing the color. I then added the word we into the H. Although I did design a version on four lines with WE on its own line, it meant having to introduce another color, so I stayed with this design. Thanks man,

it's good to see you here, you are very welcome on this network

I'm glad you like my avatar. A similar sign was used in protests against the Vietnam War (and subsequent anti-war protests) and by the counterculture as a sign of peace. Because the hippies of the day often flashed this sign (palm out) while vocalizing "Peace", it became popularly known (through association) as the peace sign. This international anti-war symbol, when peace-activists protested against the Republican adminstration nearly 40 years ago, was just as relevant over the last 8 years!
