PERSONAL
I live in rural Dorset in the South West of England and am engaged to be married (at the age of 54!) to the Founder of a unique Women's Organisation, The Women for a Change Foundation. On one hand I live a very simple life, and on the other I am involved in helping with an incredibly exciting internet experiment which occupies a lot of my life.
My life's journey has taken me to live in 6 countries, 10 years of which I was involved in living and working in a therapeutic meditation community with branches all over the world.
I have run a small publishing company in the UK, a painting and decorating company in Germany, and worked selling insurance in call centres.
I was involved in the squatting movement in the 70's, a hard-line anarcho-communist, and narrowly escaped serious prison sentences.
I am now happer than I have ever been in my life!!! PROFESSIONAL LIFE
12 years ago I first discovered computers, which changed my life for ever, and I became a very early adopter of using the internet for business and social purposes. In more recent times, I taught myself website designing and when I found that I was able to combine this with a natural flair for typography and visual creativity I was in bliss. Because of my business and sales experience, I also discovered that I love marketing. As long as what I am marketing is aimed at helping people.
When my fiancee Christine, had the vision behind
Women for a Change, I suddenly found myself immersed in a totally new world.
A world which ticked all the boxes! Firstly there was an opportunity for endless creativity.
Secondly, I was and am immersed in a world which operates on different ethical codes.
A world where people work together rather than compete
A world where people relate to each other with empathy and understanding
A world where empowerment and support for other human beings is the norm.
Why am I here?
Peace is important to us all. We all want peace. But at the same time it is also a very abstract concept. I am an activist who likes to see things happen.
I don't mean, manning the barricades, done that - been there.
No it is time for us all to stop talking and awaken ourselves.
To look at very action every word and see what we in ourselves are spreading.
There are people I know who 'get angry' about the lack of peace
Who get angry at the politicians
And what happens
Anger is what is shared
And nothing comes from anger except violence and conflict.
Once upon a time a very wise individual coined the phrase 'Love your Neighbour'
What a radical concept!
Love someone outside your own family
Oh, shocking.
For me this is where Peace starts.
From Love
From Opening the Heart to others
From a space of giving.
And this, for me, is where it all starts
Not the endless intellectuality and pontification, which us men are so good at.
No, peace has to come when we come out of our heads. Into our hearts
And feel
Feel
Feel
Let the tears flow from feeling so much.
Allow the anger and hatred, which lies in us all.
To pour out and shout it to the wind
Scream and shout all the desperation and despair
And then from that emptiness the heart can start to speak.
And when the heart speaks.
No-one can ignore the words
When the heart speaks
It comes with Wisdom
And power
and strength
And this is what will create peace
When we are all speaking from our heart
When we can truly feel and love our neighbors
We are getting closer
Love and hugs
Andrew

you sure gave me food for thought! thanks!
actually I have been one of the first people here....we were feeling like a lot less....with the war in Gaza we were stunned and very close and very talkative...it was nedcessary to lighten things up
right now I have work to get through but love to follow the story group I started. It is quite a satisfaction, just wish more people would get involved from all over the globe - would be very useful I think
thanks for your time and thoughts
take care

interesting questions you asked me....I dont always know what my message is. I think I just love to make people smile and open up shy people to enjoying life and other people more.
Wish I had yourletter right here......it is on the other page.
Anyhow, I have not joined other groups because I think if you join a group you should be active with it, otherwise, why join. But maybe I am making a mistake.
My time is too much here at the computer and that is a problem. Am trying to organize some shows, and should be working on them now......
so...
we will see...having a hard time organizing my timehere...

when you yourself have TIME
take care
