So what is it?
Not allowing or realizing the emergent nature of identity - that it is a social construction. Therefore, we are able to change any structure we choose - if only we allow ourselves to. we generally do not. We reify our instutions, then "naturalize" them - so that they appear as natural ways of being. They are not.
What must we overcome to achieve peace?

Allowing our assumptions to dictate our experience. As every institution is constructed socially - it is also perpetuated or redefined or unconstructed socially. We have the power - for the structure only holds when we buy into it.
