When it comes to peace, how would you describe yourself?: I am a born activist

What do you believe are the 'burning issues' today?: Education, Violence, Other

So what is it?: Supplant the fear indoctrination with the nurturance of communities built round all that celebrates humanity at its highest expression- kindness, compassion, love of nature, art and music, science of the spirit... I can go on and on, there's so much that's great to work with.

What must we overcome to achieve peace?: Fear

More: Fear is just "one gear in the gear shifter of emotions." We expand through love, we venture inward in grief, we promote through desire, we stave off with anger. So why is it that fear, the impetus to stopping and closing off, on a social level, has been the gear that so many cultures get stuck in?

Would it be because a "civilisation" of people closed off from one another would be more easily divided and conquerable? Would it be that the emptiness of prolonged disconnection from all that breathes life would lead to compulsive consumerism? Would it be that refined fear conditioning can lead to the complacency of millions in the manufacture and buying of weapons of mass destruction? Would it be that the emptiness felt in being in a prolonged isolated state can give rise to a violent response to a way of being that does not give sustenance to the human spirit? But a violent response, nonetheless, we witness all too often here on Earth today. Against resources in the form of mindless consuming, against people in far-off lands in the form of enlisting for military service, against life affirming commitments on a day-to-day basis due to the disenfranchisement of relentless fear inculcation.

Peace is spread with every step we take toward one another. In kindness, compassion, joy and the affirmation of the amazing creativity that lives within each one of us. Every person has a unique story. Sometimes a person may not recognise this in themselves, or they may not know yet, how to be expressed. I commit my life to keeping fear in balance by affirming the light I see in everyone I meet. I am a storyteller, I speak and I write, that I may inspire others to come together and that we may revel in creative joy.

Can we change the world?: Definitely

More about me: I practice as a writer/artist, storyteller, healing practitioner, avid reader, astrologer, green thumb, relentlessly curious, meditating, science-minded, grin-inclined yogini, energetic, lover of nature/beauty/music/systems/movement/mycology/permaculture. Basically I'm a get things going kind of perpetual optimist. Ever so grateful for all the many moment by moment blessings that make my life so lovely.
