More about me
“The most beautiful thing we can experience is the mysterious. It is the source of all true art and all science. He to whom this emotion is a stranger, who can no longer pause to wonder and stand rapt in awe is as good as dead. His eyes are closed." - Albert Einstein. I simply love this experience. Whether I am skiing down a mountain or wake jumping behind a boat; if I am teaching a class full of students or hanging out with my friends; watching the sun go down on Sydney, Australia illuminating the Opera House, or sitting atop Craggy - watching the sunset paint the sky; when I am sitting in a box seat at the opera, or dancing in the rain at the French Broad River Festival; above the tree line in Colorado, or a miles inside a cave in West Virginia; kayaking down a river in Fiji, or rafting the French Broad; lugeing in New Zealand or basking in the Atlantic Ocean sun; getting wasted in Killarney, Ireland with the locals, or having a glass of wine before the Ballet at the Met Opera House; watching a Seahawks football game or baseball with the Red Sox; dancing at a club in Wales learning interesting local pick up lines, or swinging with friends in Ashevegas; eating enough fish 'n chips in London to make any Englishman’s stomach bloat, or gorping it up on the Appalachian trail; cooking a gourmet dinner paired with exceptional wine, or diggin'on mac and cheese; surfing off the coast of Australia or hiking to the bottom of the Grand Canyon...I am so grateful and appreciative for all life's blessings and opportunities. We are privileged to live in a wondrous world - I like to surround myself with people who can be awestruck with its simplicities, complexities, and mysteries. Yet, for all of our earth's bounty, and for all of our human ingenuity, there is a desperate need for change and social/political reform in many parts of this planet - I also greatly admire people who are willing to take a passionate stand for a cause greater than themselves - people who give a local and/or global voice to causes that make a positive difference. "Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful committed people can change the world, indeed, it's the only thing that ever has." -Margaret Mead

Wow you get around and do things! What do you teach? I'm a retired elementaryschool teacher who taught mostly fourth grade. I really like your spirit and veiwed most of your 62 pictures. If you have time check out my page.
Love is always present, in the world, in nature, in us. What changes is our realisation of it.
Sending you a hearty smile from nature, dear Carmen.
love without end, Sandavala
Carmen, You invited me to be a friend the other day as we are fellow Ashevillians. Well not for long actually. I'm moving back to my home town next month to get the income stream going again. AND to be with family. I moved away decades ago and now feel it's time to hang with the clan. Very much looking forward to it. All the best to you. Thanks for reaching out.
Hello Dear CARMEN;
I congratulate your "International Women's Day, March 8, 2009."
Thank you for your friendship;

Hi Carmen,
Seems you´ve been around the world and are quite active Ü
I would be glad if you took a look at the group Basic Income Guarantee — the End of Poverty and join if you like. I believe this is a small but positive step for a social and political change of the future.
