What must we overcome to achieve peace?: Religion

More: It's all the above. Religion because so many religions actually use fear and violence as a means to sway / force people to join their sect.

Econnomic disparties, as the rich get richer off of the backs of the poorest and governments reward the wealthy with outragious tax breaks and incentives as the poor or working middle claas bare the brunt of taxes.

Prejudice still rears it's ugly head everywhere and not only in the US. Hatred falls in there too and it all seems to lead to one groups power trip. From the Neo-Nazis and KKK etc. and homophobes and mega-righteous Christians, persecuting the gays. Live and let live. What ever happened to "Let he who hath no sinned cast the first stone? It's all about hypocracy. If people would see that everyone is the same and the small differences are what make us all unique and interesting, maybe the world could be a little more peaceful.

The greed issue is a completely different problem and I have no idea what could be done rectify that. Greed is the root of all evil. Not just for money but for power. Of course that leads to money but in the smallest instance, those who crave power will do whatever it takes to gain it and not care who they crush in the process.

Can we change the world?: Maybe

More about me: I am an educator. So, education and the inequality of education is something I take personally.

I do not like violence, especially in our entertainment and I feel it is dreadful that our society seems to thrive on violence in the media and as entertainment.

I am also an artist and I feel the greatest problem with our society is, with art being one of the first things eliminated form school curiculum, Our children are not seeing enough beauty and all they are seeing is the ugliness in this world.

News: Wars and rumors of Wars around the world, Palestinians and Jews are being murdered, Poverty, Environment dying, Fla. woman likely jumped overboard (suicide), In Phila. 6 dead and 3 wounded (violence), Cheyenee, Wyo earthquakes 3 days straight, China border 3 tremors Dec. 27th and In May 80,000 people killed from earthquakes and more. It is imperative that we fast and ask for the relief of suffering around the world. What affects one affects all!!!!! If need advice on how to fast, please ask at anytime-we have a teacher to teach us.
