This is a complex issue with many layers so it is difficult to answer the question about what is 'the biggest obsticle' for peace. The greed of wanting "more than" others drives the wars for oil. The fear generated by leaders creates a feeling of desperation and the need to protect oneself against "the enemy". Hatred is created by the ideas that the world consists of isolated groups of people with opposing views on how to govern, worship, dress, etc. Instead of viewing each other as interconnected, groups or countries fall into the belief that it is "us against them", rather than "we are in this together." World leaders with large egos, arrogance and power hungry mindsets create even more difficulties, stoking negative emotions such as fear and hatred of their people and in some cases creating conflicts that would not have existed otherwise.
