When it comes to peace, how would you describe yourself?: I feel the pain in the world

What do you believe are the 'burning issues' today?: Poverty, Education, Violence, Our Shrinking Freedom, Other

So what is it?: Environmental pollution, especially global warming, may be at the root of most of our global conflicts.

More: Far, far too many people, particularly those in positions of power, don't want to accept the fact that drastic changes must be made to man's relationship with his environment. They're much too deeply committed to the status quo, to an economic and military system that's so greedy and corrupt
it's consuming itself.

More about me: I'm a sixty-nine year-old retired secondary school teacher and professional counsellor. Since my retirement, I've focused on creative writing (poetry, short stories, essays, and a science fiction and fantasy novel). I am very interested in philosophy and comparative religion, e.g., Sufism, mystical Christianity. I am a member of the Sierra Club and the Green Party of Canada. Where outdoor activities are concerned, I enjoy
bird watching and walking my corgi dog, Dylan (weather permitting).
