More
The failure to deeply perceive and respect the dignity of all life. It is an obstacle that resides deep within our own life, yet it beckons us to transform itself into a springboard of enlightened self-awareness. When we make a such a fundamental transformation in our own heart and mind, this will generate peace first in our local community, and eventually spread across the extended community of the world in bright waves of peace.
Can we change the world?
Definitely
More about me
I am practioner of buddhism based on the life-affirming principles of the Lotus Sutra, a philosophy of life for taking action for the happiness of others. I strive to employ this principle with everyone I meet, even if it is for the briefest moment. There are grand gestures one can make for the sake of humanity -- I do respect them -- but the continuity of life moment by moment seems to demand that we live with the awareness of cherishing each and every moment.
Promise to respect others and refrain from spamming?
Yes

Stream of Life
The same stream of life that runs through my veins night and day
runs through the world and dances in rhythmic measures.
It is the same life that shoots in joy through the dust of the earth
in numberless blades of grass
and breaks into tumultuous waves of leaves and flowers.
It is the same life that is rocked in the ocean-cradle of birth
and of death, in ebb and in flow.
I feel my limbs are made glorious by the touch of this world of life.
And my pride is from the life-throb of ages dancing in my blood this moment.

Yeah... I think that's the cosmic joke David.... by listening to our minds we choose to complicate it all and yet when we don't...we discover a wonderful world. Happy holidays to you too... am just off to Bali ... take care.

Great to read your words in your profile David.... this moment.... it's all there is.
Kind of simplifies things doesn't it? Liberates.... helps the pain to drift away.
Thanx for sharing.
:-)

INGLÊS:
On the day when the lotus bloomed, alas, my mind was straying,
and I knew it not. My basket was empty and the flower remained unheeded.

Only now and again a sadness fell upon me, and I started up from my
dream and felt a sweet trace of a strange fragrance in the south wind.

That vague sweetness made my heart ache with longing and it seemed to
me that is was the eager breath of the summer seeking for its completion.

I knew not then that it was so near, that it was mine, and that this
perfect sweetness had blossomed in the depth of my own heart.

David your message on your profile is profound. And the poem is wonderful. I am delighted to see such a tremendous gathering of powerful loving beings here at iPeace and I would be honored to call you a friend. I have been intrigued by the lotus flower (mandala) with my work, recently realizing it is a underlying metaphor for my vision. Thank you for Being Here! All the best, And
