When it comes to peace, how would you describe yourself?: I feel the pain in the world

What do you believe are the 'burning issues' today?: War, Hunger, Poverty, Our Planet, Violence, Human Rights, Other

So what is it?: I think the biggest issue is that people need an inner experience of lasting peace, despite other "issues"

More: I believe that some people are afraid that if they experience inner peace they will no longer be "ambitious"...that progress will stop, or that others will take advantage of them. I also believe that even people who sincerely seek peace are afraid to ask for help or guidance in discovering peace inside themselves. They may be afraid they will be duped. One of the things I love about working with horses is that you cannot fool them. If you are experiencing peace inside, they are quiet and calm. If not, you CANNOT fake it. They just see through any facade. Our hearts are like that. They cannot be fooled.

More about me: I have always been a seeker of truth (yeah, I really have), and 31 years ago learned a practice called Knowledge that has brought me great peace and personal growth over the years. I have a small farm in Northeast Georgia where I keep horses (mostly rescued) and dogs (all rescued). I work freelance as a marketing consultant and graphic designer, and teach Therapeutic Massage part time. I also make pottery. I believe that we have the power to create change by being true to who we are and simply respecting others. The Golden Rule works pretty well for me. Just breathing through it all -- the "highs" and the "lows" -- and staying on that little island that is the present.
