Journey In Life Lessons/ Part 1: Spirituality
Spirituality is a very personal thing, it can mean something different to everyone. There are so many ways of expression and connecting with Divine Source, God/Universal Consciousness. Spirituality to me means being aware that we are first Divine/Spiritual beings having a Human experience. Knowing that we are so much more than just these Human bodies or brains. We have a Soul or essence that craves, in most cases, to connect to the Divine, to love. Something more exalted and everlasting in love and beauty. We need to remember our spiritual sides, to feed it, to nurture it, just as we do our Human bodies. Our spiritual side helps keep us grounded and full of hope to carry on the tasks we are here to complete. Spirituality has to do with the “Spirit”, or Soul, our True Selves. Learning to control base Human emotions and cravings, to rise above the Human condition and live in higher awareness, knowingness, understanding. Spirituality affords us hope, comfort, inner strength and resolve in times of hardships, for , when we are strong within are minds and spirits, then we become master of the ego and can over come most situations with ease, patience, clarity, gratitude, love and understanding. This seems to be a lifetime process for most of us, but some are naturally blessed from child hood to be connected, strong and wise. How awesome is that?
The desire for spirituality in my life has taken me on a daunting quest. I have been searching for truth and understanding my whole life it seems. My journey has taken me through many different religions, from being raised in the Mormon church as a child, then several different Christian churches, then Islam, yes, i used to wear hijab hair covering and teach in the Mosque, then studied and practiced SGI buddism, studied hinduism and others, i find from my personal experience that there are good and bad behaving people in every religion and culture on this planet, the teachings seem to be similar in the respect that they seem to be aiming for the same Divine Source and spiritual experiences and connection.
If we, as a species, not just any certain religion or people, but as a species desire to connect with the Divine Creator or to the Universe in a more complete, whole, blissful, fulfilling freeing manner, then we need to become more spiritual, but spiritual in a free, unbiased sense. No ignorance in belief, no hatred in belief, no prejudice in belief. Learning to rise above Earthly dogmas and putting aside differences among people, only then will we see Heaven on Earth. Experiencing with eyes and hearts wide open. How our spirituality manifests, depends upon how we feed it. Seek out Truth if it takes you to all corners of the Earth and the study of all religions, etc...
I also found dismay in the fact that Earthly dogmas tend to fight and kill in the name of God, which i find asinine and repulsive. i have empathy for all beings, and that is one of the reasons i do not attend any particular religious establishment these days, i can find more connection and solace praying in nature somewhere, and i don't have to deal with hypocrites. yes i said it, my bad! of course, not all people who attend church or whatever are hypocrites, so i don't want to offend anyone. No offense to any one who chooses to attend a religious establishment, i understand. and it is important for some to meet every week with others who believe the same way they do, i get it, but i haven't found a place i feel comfortable with yet, i am still searching, so i practice my own rituals in the privacy of my own mind. Although i know i still have much to learn i have finally just came to the conclusion that, "Love is my religion", and i am respectful of the beliefs of all people. But i am also sure that all the religions on this planet need to stop hurting and killing others in the name of God. In a nut shell, i believe in Law of One, Unity, The Timeless One, Divine Source, Al-Ahad, Love, gratitude, compassion, open mindedness, understanding, peace and tolerance. We all have so much to learn and understand from each other, ya know? i am wanting so bad, to connect with kindred spirits on this planet and maybe i will get lucky and find my twin flame in this life, well, he is late. lol. :) love and light to all ~ faiza
