You sent me a message about this last year and I was not able to make it that day; "Thought you might like to know about this; you're welcome to come!

Sunday, April 26, 9:30 – 4:30 p.m. Marquette University Campus, Alumni
Memorial Building Chapel (2nd floor). Peacemaking Retreat."

Well, that is a part of the message anyway. I hope that it was a great success. I was wondering if you think this will be happening again this year around the same time? I hope you send me an invitation if another meet is to be planned. Thanks for reading this comment.

Much love,

Jennifer

Dear Simon, I missed seeing your invitation to a February panel discussion of conflict resolution. My study of 7th graders' quality of life in metropolitan USA has been pretested, but not yet funded. I will contact you at Marquette Univ to see if we can meet any time soon. I have a "free" day on April 2nd, so there is a possibility. I'm preparing for international mtgs in May and July, so my spare time has been constrained. I regret that we missed sharing views in February.

Warm regards, Martha, PhD Sociology, author of Beyond Equilibrium Theory, May "presenter" of Anatomy of Consciousness Formation at the Global Level, derived from my Cognitive Theory of Social Action, published in B.E.T. (2000), listed by University Press of America as a methodology book, at my request, because it demonstrates how to test theories of "development" and "change," and because the theories have not been "peer reviewed" since being accepted in lieu of theory prelims, as a framework for my subsequent doctoral research.

Needless to say, my professional ambitions have been thwarted at every turn.
"Presentation of Grand Theory" was banned in my field in 1960-61, the year I formulated my theories while analyzing defects in the work of Talcott Parsons.
Robert Merton egotistically decided that we "weren't ready" for Grand Theory. I corresponded with him briefly. He attributed my insights to a colleague who declined the attribution. I chided him about it, and got an irritable reply. Then he died, along with all of the unfulfilled promises of "Middle Range Theory."

I'll check your website, in case this message doesn't post. Cheers, Martha
