When it comes to peace, how would you describe yourself?: I feel the pain in the world

What do you believe are the 'burning issues' today?: War, Hunger, Poverty, Education, Our Planet, Violence, Human Rights, Other

More: I believe that one of the biggest obstacles for peace is that too many individuals in this world do not feel a personal responsibility for other individuals and do not think about how a certain behaviour affects their neighbour or our children.
Besides that I do believe that it's a lot of different things that create obstacles for peace. Both distortion of basic messages in the various religions, fear, greed, prejudices, economic disparity, hatred, misunderstandings, lack of education, not wanting to let go of past and historic injustices and hesitating about working towards solutions on burning issues, create obstacles for peace.
Religion itself is not THE obstacle for peace, it's how some people misinterpret the basic message in their specific religion and how they choose to ignore the fact that all religions basically bring us the same basic message about Compassion and Charity.
I also believe that we tend to create our own daemons through our worst expectations, fears, prejudices, hatreds, misunderstandings, jealousies and negative emotions.

completely covered with thick, black oil.

industrial giants profit as they destroy
the loving whales alive...

If we do not defend the Living Oceans
from the industrial profiteers,
who will...

How can we be so blind... to so much beauty...
