Zambian AIDS Crises
The average age of lifespan in Zambia today is less than 40 years old. (Actually it is currently approximated at 37 years of age). How are we, the rest of the world, okay with this?
Resolving Commercial Airline Waste
I always am alarmed each time I take a commercial flight and witness the vast waste of food on the plane, knowing there are millions hungry who are dying of starvation and malnutrition.
Even a package of salt or sugar cannot be redistributed once someone has placed it before you. I have passed through customs for a sandwich dispersed while I was asleep, or a snack, I never asked for. But that would have had to have been thrown away if I did not take it with me. As planes are consistently flying back and forth intercontinentally, can we not try to find a way to work out some sort of collection at one of the hubs so that way this food can be distributed to countries and the people that need it?
Even just a collection of the packets of unopened sugar or salt, would be a start in downsizing some of the waste.
I have spoken with pilots and others within a few of the larger airlines, who only can explain that the reason why this cannot be done is due to the huge, potential risk of lawsuit.
Death by starvation however does not seem to be the socially, liable choice.
