When we do not know each other, or know about each other, it is easy to distance ourselves and make someone the enemy. As we come to understand each other, it is harder to kill or fight.

I am a longtime convinced Friend who came to Quakers because I knew in my heart that I felt as they did, that there is no occasion for war if one is following what God teaches. I believe there must be those of us in the world who stand for peace, or we will all fall to war.

One of my favorite activist peace organizations, American Friends Service Committee, has posted this "Roadmap for Peace" which contains very simple directives to refocus our country on a peace-first initiative. In simple, plain language, they are sending this plan to our leaders in the US. Please read the plan and sign on!
