The Gift of Peace
Peace is slippery and elusive and very hard to find.
It dwells deep within your heart,
hardly ever on your mind.
Peace is a very special gift that is given
to us from God above.
The great big package is wrapped with
much care and given to us with love.
As eager, impatient children we open the gift and find:
Joy, Long-suffering, gentleness, faith, love, temperance,
and a blessed peace of mind.
To accept this gift the sounds of the world
must all disappear;
So that the whisperings of God, we can hear.
For peace is not found in conditions nor possessions that
the world wants to give.
But is found in our daily walk with God
and how we choose to live.
Even though peace is elusive,
it can be found and truly attained;
If we will accept this great gift in our
Heavenly Father's Name!
