When it comes to peace, how would you describe yourself?: I feel the pain in the world

What do you believe are the 'burning issues' today?: War, Hunger, Poverty, Education, Our Planet, Human Rights, Our Shrinking Freedom

So what is it?: Knowledge and understanding can go a long way towards improving our condition.

What must we overcome to achieve peace?: Greed

More: I see a world where we fight over ancient hatreds, religious and tribal. But these feelings are fostered by a 'powerful' few who are simply running their agendas on the majority. They want influence, or wealth, and use our ignorance and lack of understanding, knowledge, and awareness as leverage to achieve their aims. So at the root of our problems, I see the greed of a relative few causing most of the trouble.

Can we change the world?: Definitely

More about me: I am fortunate enough to live in Hawaii. It seems that here in the islands, we've found ways to live in peace and respect for other cultures and religions. In fact, its the combination of all the ethnic groups here that has created the Hawaiian culture of today. I think we have something to offer in that respect. But I'd like to observe and learn here first.

Personally, I am a jewelry artist and entrepreneur, currently working with kayak rentals and ginseng cultivation with my little dog, Augustus.

This is a link to a wonderful page. It quizzes you on your vocabulary, and gets progressively harder as you go through it. For every correct answer you make, world governments will donate rice and other necessities to countries in need.

By the end of a session, you will have learned quite a bit. Your vocabulary will have expanded, and you will have fed someone who really needs help. Its a Win Win.

Early this morning something happened on iPeace that really made me sit up and take notice. This is a great site with wonderful members who, for the most part, are sincere in their desire to bring about a betterment of our world. We do this through the sharing of insights, news, thoughts, artistry, and opinions...All in a warm environment full of very real love and caring.
