"Not only has Ndioba an infectuous groove, he has a knack for melody and a beautiful voice too" BoxTOUR DATES AVAILABLE 2009
I'm a multi-instrumentalist from Senegal and made my name in my native country and Europe as a bass player.
Since 2005, I'm also working on my own material and appearing live in different formats: Afro-pop or Afro-jazz, depending on the venue.
Appearances with my TOPOTO BAND at festivals like Klaipeda Jazz International (Lithuania), World Village, Faces, Etnosoi, European People's Festival (Finland) have been largely acclaimed.
In 2008-2009, I'm also performing with my friend DIOGAL SAKHO (www.diogal.net), a folk singer from Senegal, who has released 3 albums in France.
I have recording studio and touring experience and have played in many environments from smokey little pubs to large festival stage’s.
All over the years I performed with many different artists.
Among them:
Tony Momrelle (Incognito), Freddy Moffet (Macy Gray), Jason Carter, Hasse Walli&Asamaan Band, Sakari Kukko&Piirpauke, Felix Sabbal-Lekko, Falou Dieng, Fatou Laobe, Amy Colle, Bara Fall, Badara Seck, Daouda Gassama Band, Number One, A Lady Call Dial Mbaye, Niko Barry, Soda Mama Fall, , Aikakone, Sami Saari, Aki Sirkesalo, Tino Singh, Charles Salter, James Black, Irina, Joonatan Rautio, Galaxy, Stilimba, Zero Drama, French Kiss, Jimmi Lawson&Hanna Wilson, Cemille, Guglielmo Pagnozzi, Jeremy Tordjman, Alain Nkossi Konda, Diogal.

He is from the South but not Jola and from his demonstrations it appears that he fled machine guns, hand grenades and and hatchets. Showing him the map started him "telling' the story of what happened to him and with a map of Africa he pointed his long journey to South Africa. He tried to tell us of something that appears to be a ritual whereby you are protected from bullets killing you. Have you heard of anything like this? Do you think we are misinterpreting?
This may sound like ignorance but do Senegalese have French as an official language. I ask this question as I am working, or at least trying to work with a Senegalese man that is deaf and does not appear to have sign language. I find it so hard to communicate with him. He is a refugee and in the refugee camps I am working at and we are all stumped as to what to do. All we can gather is that he used to fish in Senegal and that he may have come by boat to South Africa. He does not appear to be able to write and drawing pictures just results in a lot of frustration. He does not appear to lip read English so maybe he can lip read French - what is the language of Senegal- he is the only Senegalese refugee that has been in the camps - any help for us to find a peaceful resolution so that we can help him?
