i just finished re-reading Virtual Light by William Gibson. It gave me a sense that...when I first read it, I was reading too quickly...caught up in the idea of a furture that was coming.
but when I read VL for the first time it was in the 1980s...and what Gibson was writing about was, well, sort of right now. As in one fragment from the story "...and the President's Black, anyway." and also Cognitive Dissidents --
I had forgotten that I had read it somewhere -- the way things are,
maybe everything has been done before,
but not by you or me.
