When it comes to peace, how would you describe yourself?: I feel the pain in the world

What do you believe are the 'burning issues' today?: War, Hunger, Poverty, Education, Our Planet, Violence, Human Rights, Our Shrinking Freedom

So what is it?: Peace is recognizing that the "other" is the same as the "self" and learning to relate to everyone through love instead of fear and hate.

More: Fear of those who hold different beliefs than us and whom we consider to be "other" than we are, leads us down the road to intolerance, hate, and violence. Until we learn to embrace humanity as a whole and recognized that the "other" is really the same as the "self" the value of human life can be discounted and peace will be impossible.

More about me: I am a graduate student researching the Peace Movement and how communication tactics and methods are used to direct the message of peace.
