I am an advocate for peace and human rights, author, facilitator for nonviolence workshops, mentor, spiritual counselor and facilitator of women's ceremony, circles and ritual and offer energetic healing.

In 2007 I traveled to the Islamic Republic of Iran as a civilian diplomat with the Fellowship of Reconciliation to meet the people and help build a bridge for peace. Believing we are all members of the same human family, I went to Iran to 'meet my relatives'.

I published, "Are You Listening? ancient wisdom for the spiritual quest" in 2009 which shares insights and suggestions for healing the human spirit and uncovering the beauty and bounty that we each possess.

I am a nonviolence trainer for the international peace-building organization, Creating a Culture of Peace, which provides a holistic and practical foundation in active nonviolence and I served on their national board of directors.

I am an Advisory Member of the Kashmir Center for Peace and Reconciliation, a non-political organization focused on building the skills of leadership through nonviolence and I co-facilitated workshops for their first International Youth Conference in Srinagar, Kashmir in May, 2011.

I am co-producer of the event Speaking Truth to Power: a permanent state of war, which debuted on April 9, 2011 at the Diana Wortham Theatre, Asheville, NC. The event was an evening of powerful commentary by featured speakers Gareth Porter, investigative journalist and historian who specializes in US national security policy and Ray McGovern, former US Army Intelligence Officer, 27 year CIA veteran and analyst. They were joined by Iraq and Afghanistan veterans, Conor Curran, Brock McIntosh, Mike Prysner and Josh Stieber, who shared their personal stories and perspectives of our permanent state of war and the true costs on human life. The final speaker was North Carolina's own, David LaMotte, award-winning songwriter and itinerant peace activist and Rotary Fellow.
The evening was filmed and a 2-disc dvd will be available for purchase through the website soon.
