Fear leads to poverty conciousness and results in greed and voraciousness and inequality. The poor pay the price. . Many young people who cannot afford to achieve success in the normal channels ie education achieve it the wrong way, by acquiring status symbols cars designer wear etc in order to gain some credibliitiy. . Money is power, and many quangos gain access to power through political means. This runs counter to democracy.
