Profile Information

When it comes to peace, how would you describe yourself?
I feel the pain in the world
What do you believe are the 'burning issues' today?
War, Hunger, Poverty, Education, Our Planet, Violence, Inflation, Human Rights, Our Shrinking Freedom
So what is it?
it's our own mind
What must we overcome to achieve peace?
Prejudice

The Words of Buddha Shakyamuni on Loving Kindness clarify the Path to Peace:

The Buddha's Words on Loving Kindness (Metta Sutta)

This is what should be done
By those who are skilled in goodness,
And who know the path of peace:
Let them be able and upright,
Straightforward and gentle in speech.
Humble and not conceited,
Contented and easily satisfied.
Unburdened with duties and frugal in their ways.
Peaceful and calm, and wise and skillful,
Not proud and demanding in nature.
Let them not do the slightest thing
That the wise would later reprove.
Wishing: In gladness and in saftey,
May all beings be at ease.
Whatever living beings there may be;
Whether they are weak or strong, omitting none,
The great or the mighty, medium, short or small,
The seen and the unseen,
Those living near and far away,
Those born and to-be-born,
May all beings be at ease!

Let none deceive another,
Or despise any being in any state.
Let none through anger or ill-will
Wish harm upon another.
Even as a mother protects with her life
Her child, her only child,
So with a boundless heart
Should one cherish all living beings:
Radiating kindness over the entire world
Spreading upward to the skies,
And downward to the depths;
Outward and unbounded,
Freed from hatred and ill-will.
Whether standing or walking, seated or lying down
Free from drowsiness,
One should sustain this recollection.
This is said to be the sublime abiding.
By not holding to fixed views,
The pure-hearted one, having clarity of vision,
Being freed from all sense desires,
Is not born again into this world.
Can we change the world?
Definitely
Promise to respect others and refrain from spamming?
Yes

The Story of the Two Wolves

One day an old Native American grandfather was talking to his grandson.
He said,
"There are two wolves fighting inside all of us -the wolf of fear and hate,
and the wolf of love and peace."

The grandson listened, then looked up at his grandfather and asked,
"Which one will win?"

The grandfather replied, "The one we feed."

Mind Without Fear - tagore

Where the mind is without fear and the head is held high;

Where knowledge is free;

Where the world has not been broken up

into fragments by narrow domestic walls;

Where words come out from the depth of truth;

Where tireless striving stretches its arms towards perfection;

Where the clear stream of reason

has not lost its way into the dreary desert sand of dead habit;

Where the mind is led forward by thee into… Continue

Night in Kalapa

This time it happened—

Caught in a thunderstorm,

Spun and twirled,

Dizzy,

Happy,

I was caught off guard.

This whirlwind took my heart.

I needed everything to fall apart

Like feathers from a pillow

Tossed high into the sky.

Everything comes falling down,

Gliding on a breeze caught in its own time—

Energy that can't be measured.

Comet shoots across my…

Namaste Pascal,

You're certainly a very happy person. Music says a lot. And then you stay in the Tibetan Buddhist monastery called Lerab Ling You're too envious of my dear friend!
