There are several aspects of human nature that combine to form a deadly combination; they make us act as if we are a cancer in the biosphere of the planet. Greed, or always wanting _more_; its opposite is embodied in self-sacrifice. Exploitation, or refusing to accept that which is sustainable, that which is offered by Nature as our portion in our niche; its opposite is embodied in self-sacrifice. Self Importance, or believing that we are _above_ Nature rather than a part of it, believing that we have no intrinsic function to perform in Nature other than to consume and do as we wish...that we are gods, and that one person can be more important than another being; its opposite is embodied in self-sacrifice. Fear, or being unwilling to truly stare into that infinity and our own mortality on our own...we want to wear blinders and distract ourselves with materialism and self-importance from the issues that simply will not go away whether we acknowledge them or not; its opposite is embodied in self-sacrifice. Materialism, or the blinders we put on so we can pretend that only that which is directly or indirectly affected by photons is _real_, that this material life is all that matters; its opposite is embodied in self-sacrifice. Rebellion, or rejecting and overcoming the natural boundaries that Nature has put in place to maintain balance; its opposite is embodied in self-sacrifice.
Can we change the world?
Definitely
More about me
Shamanism was once the world religion. The world was once in harmony with Nature. Shamanism has many aspects and one of them is an understanding of Nature, balance, and the rightful place of humans. Shamanism holds vital pieces of the puzzle. When we rejected it, we rejected solutions to the current crisis.
