The world cries as Haitians die
When we are motivated passions fly
Government bureaucracies interfere with supplies
as little Haitian children die

We deal with tragedies one at a time to
We help wherever and whenever it's true
But lives are lost in the bat of an eye
The world shakes an we wonder why?
Food and water , medicine and supplies
As Haitians bleed and many died
We need to provide a way to survive
Roads and airports houses and pride
Certain people get to go through life as if they deserve more
They seem to have all that anyone could want but keep score
They want their taxes lowered and talk about trickle down
They ship their production overseas and sell it all around
When the country aches they complain about big government
When the people are in pain they plan health care decent
They live in wealthy area's were they gather to talk of life
God and country are claimed while screaming out loud
Little children suffer and soldiers die but yet they are proud
There eyes wide open only poverty trickles down
They pray to God to take care of their families crowns

How did wet to this greedy closed minded state
What in the name of God did their greed create
Immigrants as we all are back to our roots
Starve in the streets adding millions to boot

Wake up I shout at the top of my lungs
The more one gives the more we get done
The environment cries and we all close our eyes
Our children will live in a world they despise
Health Care Denied!

I want to see beauty and reflect as a young man can't
The sunset in the desert, lightening storms by the beach
Cathedrals in Cities and jungles that can't be reached
With thoughts so simple that one could never teach

And yet my memory serves me so,
Like a painter, in my thoughts, I can go
Yet I can't just go, I have so much more to do, I know
To see joy in others I must give to make it so
I wonder how the world can be so angry
As I see beauty every where I look
When history has shown man less than
Art replicating life is so beautiful it can't be mistook

As I stare at purple mountains majesty in a desert sunset
The Grand Canyons majesty as if it were painted before my feet
The Rocky Mountains at Dusk in Autumn in bluish hues
I wonder still what motivates man to create death and deceit
War fought in a land so barren that it was never habitable
Lives lost , women and children who had no choices
Careful building destroyed by mans bombs
Bent and broken children who never had voices

And yet the beauty is there to see for free
Everywhere one looks it is as if natures pallet flows
Water over rocks in time leave softened edges in its stay
Perhaps one day we will all have peace bestowed!

Helping to educate, feed, clothe and shelter
What do we in war corrupts us four sure
The greed and or vitriol that majorities ignore

What divine right destroys countries's homes and children
Rhetoric blown out of proportion about others freedom
Patience and living should serve as an example as told
Greed for power and control as money has distorted goals

9-11 has reminded me of our pride and what we protected
The bravery and loss of life for senseless killing we protested
Chasing Terrorists all over as they should be detested
Raising consciousness so we will never be bested

Remember why we are here and keep the bar low
We reap what we sow the bible tells us so
We must give and teach the best that we know!
Relying on goodness not greed as we go
The Beatles & Stones were the rage
Marched for peace sung on stage
Back from Nam to see how to change
Building a company seemed so strange

Prayed for Martin more then once
There was never going to be a free lunch
Lost my hero's gunned down in blazes
Lost my brain in woodstock hazes

Did we accomplish at the end of the day
The Doors and drugs blew minds away.
Lost our focus and our causes
People had to die to add some clauses
40 years later were still killing children
A country that has seemed to lose it's goals
Democracy works slowly don't lose your soul
As I try to see what I have done.
For the first time I am trying to motivate some
Friends that were strangers to discussion groups come
I find that people are interested in all sorts of topics
Some come form Sweden and some are physiologists
Pakistan needs so much help and so do the Tropics
Africa is in turmoil to an extent that is catastrophic
I know not what I am trying to do
Or where this will lead to
Scary to know how little I know
I wade through the worlds pain with people in tow
I pray…

Once a soldier cried out for peace
His voice was little and he felt weak
Go to fight communism they said
His bunk mate took a bullet in his head
All around the area in Vietnam they patrolled
For months they did what they were told
Heads and bodies once vibrant and strong
Were dead , bent or broken in throngs
257 in company E
21 left for all to see
Home and confused that nothing was done
My people treated me like scum
For the destruction of villages of women and children
Ashamed he went hidden…

There is no answer to an old mans war
Stay home make peace and try some more
finally today my son joined the Peace Corp
He will try to rectify my sins
His love and my peace are finally a win!
Get off your computer and give
Walk with your legs and let live
Give a sandwich, give a shirt
Give a little more until it hurts
To many groups and too much talk
Stop talking and walk the walk
Freedom seekers lay down your lives
Give your time or a dime so freedom thrives
Bloated conversations and spirited speach
May constipate your soul until you deep reach
Get off you Arses and go to the street
help a child breath and meet & greet
Live in God's name even when it hurts
There is no time to get involved just do
The children wait for you
Barefeet and stomachs protruding through
They look, hope, cry and wait too
A little food some clothes a smile or two
The children wait for you
Thousands die as they wait and still there is no you
Haunted eyes looking into the camara what to do
You Give what you can anywhere; that's true
Give more directedly acknowlege it's in liu
You don't really care enough do YOU
The children wait for you
You don't really care because little…

The barefoot child lives no longer in my heart
They live in my eyes
As worldwide poverty grows in devatating numbers
1000 + children with barefeet, today dies
10cents on every dollar given disapeers into the night
Barefoot children shutter in spite
The smiles that defeat the camara are non-existent more
The death from desease and ravages of war
Help one child at a time and no one can say more
Do one not nothing if you can justify four
Life is what happens as I think about tomorrow
Sometimes I dwell on the moment without enjoying it
Never has life brought itself to such a slow show
Never has time diminished its importance a bit
One last chance to a metamorphosis
One last chance to survive
With time spent becoming well from Illness
With a zest for life that feels so alive
A brass ring is no longer the object of the ride
Just being on the merry go round for five
No loss of enthusiasm just more respect I decide
As the ride slows enough for thought about being alive
Doing for others is the dream of the day
Reflections many I can give away
Old issues seam to melt away.
Soft water falls from rough rocks over time.
Leaving smooth edges in their stay
As beautiful rainbows play
Under the waterfall of life
As our life's energy drifts down
Passing of time and strife
Creating peace at last loves crown
Only destiny awaits
Life's long and endless chase
Slowly now, don't want to be late
Meeting my God or my fate
Has no meaning without unconditional love
For my God and my 3 children
I pray to parents long above
For the strength to be worthy…

.“What, to the American slave, is your 4th of July? I answer; a day that reveals to him, more than all other days in the year, the gross injustice and cruelty to which he is the constant victim. To him, your celebration is a sham; your boasted liberty, an unholy license; your national greatness, swelling vanity; your sounds of rejoicing are empty and heartless; your denunciation of tyrants, brass fronted impudence; your shouts of liberty and equality, hollow mockery; your prayers and hymns, your sermons and thanksgivings, with all your religious parade and solemnity, are, to Him, mere bombast, fraud, deception, impiety, and hypocrisy-a thin veil to cover up crimes which would disgrace a nation of savages. There is not a nation on the earth guilty of practices more shocking and bloody than are the people of the United States, at this very hour. “Go where you may, search where you will, roam through all the monarchies and despotisms of the Old World, travel through South America, search out every abuse, and when you have found the last, lay your facts by the side of the everyday practices of this nation, and you will say with me, that, for revolting barbarity and shameless hypocrisy, America reigns without a rival.”–from abolitionist Frederick Douglass’ speech “The Meaning of the 4th of July to the American Negro.”
