The deaths that opened the hearts of many Israelis.
So many deaths in this bloody war between Israel and Hamas have been in vain. If anything can be a consolation to Dr. Ezzeldeen Abu al-Aish at this unimaginable hard time, is the fact that the death of his 3 daughters opened a channel between Palestinian hearts to the mainstream Israeli hearts.
It happened last night, and the events were broadcasted live in prime…

Today I received an e-mail showing terrible pictures... about what's really going on in Gaza, it says (I was feeling, I was really manipulated)...
I was sitting in front of my computer devastated, and could not believe what my eyes were seeing... I remained a long time in front of these pictures... then, of course, I started to cry... as an empath, I could not NOT feel the pain, the suffering, the outrage, the lack of respect toward human rights... human LIFE... God's LIFE... God's…

iPeace as a sustainable "Global Movement"?
Yes, it is indeed a very thoughtful mission in those modern times of proliferating "quick-and-greedy" solutions around the globe, where our actually highly developed sagacity and (emotional) intelligence got so badly distracted and our self-reflection even blindfolded bit by bit by all those oh-so "well-off"-promising symbols and signs of status, affluence and prestige....
....the same time leaving the poor to their own…

Ask the Mercenary
By Jay Dixit on January 12, 2009 in Brainstorm
This post is a response to "George Carlin's Last Interview" by Jay Dixit
As a British commando in the Special Air Service, John Geddes fought combat missions in the Falkland Islands and ran undercover ops in Northern Ireland and Bosnia. When he left the military, he became a commando-for-hire, protecting American and British media crews from hostile insurgents in Iraq. He now runs a private military…

The Hate Peddler
He gives candy to the kids..When they go out to play
He gives money to the village women..As they all go
about their day..He teases and flirts with the teenage
girls..As they too fall victim to his enticing siren song..
He counsels all the young men..With muscles so virile
so anxious and strong..
He embraces all the Elders and ask them about their
needs..He hugs and kisses the…

Let me tell you a story. I went to visit my parents in Beer Sheva today. It takes about an hour to drive there. I got there at 12:45 pm. Said hi, kissed my parents and went to look what's cooking in my mom's pots.
Suddenly a siren started wailing. This has only one meaning for it these days for a million people in Israel. A missile is doing its way from Gaza in your direction. And you have to act fast.
My elderly parents…

Some days pass without a glitch, but also without anything memorable. Not today. I woke up without a headache (a first these days), the sun was shining, the mountains visible and work quite pleasant. A regular day indeed, until I received a message that Noa (Achinoam Nini) and Mira Awad are going to represent Israel at the Eurovision Song Contest.
I started to cry because this is momentous. It is significant not because an Israeli singer respresents her country, but because it's a…

hello all.
about a week ago i posted a letter to my palestinian brothers everywhere.
in my original letter, i was very harsh in my words regarding Hamas. I was pointing a finger at them clearly, this came from my gut, from the deepest, most hurting place in my heart. The reason i did that, is that the horrible stories i have heard about Hamas from my Palestinian friends who used to live in Gaza (and escaped, barely, from death by Hamas), plus the videos on youtube of hamas…

Enjoy the Video below
This song is for you and your friends.....
For more compassion, more hugs, more peace....
In our hearts and in the world.....
(If) she (your friend's soul) just walks away from you
Hope you haven't heard
Does the sign say: "No Go Area"
or: "Please Do Not Disturb"
There's no ring of your bell
there's no voice in the phone
Why she's thinking you're better off alone?
Words just seem to pass…

A woman from Ucraine asked why I have so many pictures on my walls, in her home they just have the Madonna; I was asked by am American friend why they don't paint the old buildings in Italy; some Europeans show up to a dinner with wine, cake, as well as perhaps a gift and flowers, while other nationalities show up empty-handed; a Russian guest once drank all the cola in the hotel's refrigerator, thinking he didn't have to pay for it; in China 200 people waited for me (I was the last one) to…

Hello friends,
As some of you might have heard, I will be representing Israel in the Eurovision song contest in May, together with my good friend Mira Awad.
I imagine this may come as a surprise to some of you……
I had been offered this position in the past and refused. This year I agreed, with the goal of using this huge media platform (many millions of viewers) as a means to convey a message of peace in these difficult times, together with my friend Mira . We…

A close friend of mine is musical Ambassador to World Vision and just visitied a large regional development project in Ethiopia.
Although the people living there are extremely poor and have to live from only 1 $ per day(!), he has experienced "very
proud, beautiful, joyous and precious personalities" the same time......
Hence, Idedicated this poem to all those on this planet who still celebrate
warm unadulterated humanity despite all life-threatening odds…

I am one of the eight Jewish women who occupied the Israeli consulate in Toronto last Wednesday to protest the Israeli assault on Gaza on Wednesday. i have been heartsick watching the destruction of Gaza and the pain being inflicted on their people. I've been an activist all my life but don't often feel that civil disobedience is effective. The frustration we felt in trying to speak out as Jews who don't agree with what Israel is doing led us to this non-violent action of resistance. After…

Last night, after a long day away from the computer, I opened my mailbox to find it bursting with interesting things - first, David's public referal, with compliments, to one of my blog posts. Second, lots of apparent comments. When I opened the post to see the comments, I discovered it had disappeared. Today I learnt it had been removed, the first blog post ever to be removed from iPeace, what an honour. I started writing a response to David privately and then ran out of room; and since the… Continue

actually - after two posts i've posted here i'm starting to think it wasn't a smart move - nobody seems to react to them, and after all - when one publishes something, he wishes that someone would "consume" it. anyhow - i might search another platform for my blog, or return to mepeace (only there i hadn't many readers as well...)
anyhow - i thought what more i should write about the war. the war that, as any other, i object to. you see - i'm not sure if i'm a pure pacifist, but as…

I was listening to an Enlightenext interview with evolutionary visionary
Brian Swimme today, and he talked about the idea that the next phase of evolution will be when we learn to live in a society of “mutually enhancing relationships.”
What a beautiful vision. This is an evolutionary understanding that can apply to every facet of our lives, from the way we interact with each other, to the way we interact…

All over the world, and bursting forth today from its underground co-creative crucible into clear public discussion, there is a dawning excitement everywhere regarding the creative power and wisdom of collective human genius.
The election of Obama seems to have sparked the vision or wild hope that something almost divine or magical may be in the air. We have prayed, we have read and studied, we have gathered together in small groups everywhere, we have been…
