Even if we have several obvious differences, add me as a friend... teach me, tell me and talk to me about what you want me to learn.
ANy and all information is welcome. If you have a question about me or the causes I am close to just ask. It's a relief to be somewhere that I won't be seen as "too intense."
Thanks for stopping by
Peace,
LA/ME

"How can we take action to make positive change in the world: When faced with this cahllenge many of us respond in one of the following ways:
1. We become overwhelmed, feeling that nothing we an do will be of any use, and thus we do nothing.
2. Driven by consious or unconsious fear and despair, we adopt a cause or course of action. Then we struggle, fight, or sacrifice to try to 'save the world'. This way of going about things tends to perpetuate the very problems we're trying to…

I watched the news with a sense of horror, learning that North Korea has been detonating bombs, yet again!
What are these people thinking...their marching in their public squares, reminds me of the horrors of Nazi Germany, not too many years ago.
It is beyond me what goes on in the communal mind of the people of this country....how brainwashed they seem, goose-stepping like automatons....
Frightening.....
We need to meditate and pray for this country, that…

Say what you will, the Middle East is a mysterious place. The person who says he knows what will happen there is either foolish of naïve. And yet, there are signs afoot which may point in a new direction, one that is more hopeful, and which hints of a better day and a brighter future.
Whatever else it was, 9/11 was a wake up call of sorts. The horrific events of that day said to the world that there are pent up resentments in various parts of the world, which are festering, which may…

Feel the grace and put your thirst out
Get in the lorry and see where it goes.
It might run up high or it may run down low
The only thing sure, is that hearts will grow.
We are all one, no you, no me

- Mother Theresa -
People are unreasonable, illogical
self - centered;
Forgive them anyway
If you are kind, people will accuse
you of selfish, ulterior motives;
Be kind anyway
If you are honest and frank
people will cheat you;
Be honest and frank anyway
What you spend years building
someone could destroy overnight;
Build anyway
The good you do today
people will…

UN Peacekeeping Forces: Limits and Opportunities
Rene Wadlow
Peacekeeping operations have made the UN visible in many parts of the world, and the “blue helmets” have symbolized the peacemaking and conciliation role of the United Nations. The Nobel Peace Prize awarded to the “blue helmets” in 1988 testifies to the respect and confidence placed in them. The UN is the logical choice to provide a framework for multilateral engagement. The UN operates under its Charter which…

Humanity in its entirety is a body, and in the body each member is important. Groups, nations or races which cut themselves off from others, or seek to dominate by imposing their own culture, ideology and customs, by suppressing the identity of another's culture, wound and hurt not only that particular people but the whole of humanity and themselves. To-day, more than ever before, we are called to become more conscious of the fundamental unity of the human family and to help each group of…

Horsing around on the Internet I discovered that the United Nations had, in 2001, unanimously declared September 21st as Peace Day. Maybe, I was unaware of this fact because Wal-Mart has happily not commercialized on the date with everything from Peace Day greeting cards to Peace Dat boxer shorts, When September 21st is remembered. like Febuary 14rh or October 31st, then our children may come to know a yearly day of cease fire.
Jeremy Giley, in the YouTube video I saw asked "what are…

Asia has one of the fastest rates of spread of HIV/AIDS infection in the world. At present, HIV/AIDS infection is still virtually nonexistent amongst most of these populations in Bangladesh. But it is extremely likely that once it is initiated, it will spread rapidly through these extended networks of risk. Prostitutes exist at significant levels in…
