Joe The Plumber, Or Dog-Whistle Politics, Part Two

Originally wrote this as a comment to the last essay-lette I wrote on this topic, and posted to a blog on my page at I-Power. The commentator left three YouTube videos featuring Joe Wurzelbacher, aka Joe the Plumber, as well as a couple of text comments indicating that he agreed with Mr. Wurzelbacher.

Well, saw the last of those video comments, an interview he gave the Toledo Blade after the last Presidential debate, and, to be blunt, Mr. Wurzelbacher didn't say anything in it, that… Continue

Mandela His 8 Lessons of Leadership

Mandela His 8 Lessons of Leadership

Wednesday, Jul. 09, 2008 By RICHARD STENGEL

Though Mandela has retreated from the public stage, the 90-year-old still speaks out, as he did in condemning Zimbabwe's Mugabe.

Nelson Mandela has always felt most at ease around children, and in some ways his greatest deprivation was that he spent 27 years without hearing a baby cry or holding a child's hand. Last month, when I visited Mandela in Johannesburg — a frailer, foggier Mandela than… Continue

Human warmth and Compassion.....His Holiness the Dalai Lama

Compassion can be roughly defined in terms of a state of mind that is non-violent, non-harming and non-aggressive. It is a mental attitude based on the wish for others to be free of their suffering and is associated with a sense of commitment, responsibility and respect towards the other...........

Rain

Ocean evaporation is not the smooth linear process that most models use.
The models cannot handle the small scale chaos of the real system.
Chaotic conditions often have a trigger effect like an avalanche.
This is the case with ocean evaporation.

This trigger effect makes it possible to influence the size of developing storms
that are the cheapest of all possible sources of water.

Fogiveness/Joining

Fogiveness/Joining

Joining rests on forgiveness. This you had heard before without understanding what it is you would forgive. You must forgive reality for being what it is. Reality, the truly real, is relationship. You must forgive God for creating a world in which you cannot be alone. You must forgive God for creating a shared reality before you can understand it is the only one you would want to have. You have to forgive this reality for being different than you have always… Continue

Peace Begins

Peace begins with what we teach our children, just like what was taught to us

it begins with one act of kindness to someone else even if you don't know that person

it is taught just like hate

it is feared

it is the same for everyone

How will you find peace

what will you teach of it

Why is it so hard to understand

look around you and ask yourself

HAVEN'T WE DONE ENOUGH TO THIS WORLD?

When will you find peace

After all is gone and there is no… Continue

3 Prayers from Jeshua

Prayer

Singing glory and praise to my Creator,

I see my spirit as one with eternity

And my life as an endless sea.

I pray that my love may be extended to all

As Your love has been given to me.

In our joy we give thanks for Your blessing.

Let us love like we’ve never known hurt.

Let us live in the spirit of caring.

Let us act like it’s Heaven on Earth.

Amen

Prayer

Father Mother Source,

I pray for… Continue

New Video Posted - Julio's Story

Hi friends

I have just posted a new video on my profile, please take a look.It is a heartwarming and insipring story about Julio Collete of Mozambique who lost his legs through a landmine blast at the age of 8.

He has been supporting his ailing mother (his father died in the war) and managed to get through school. When we heard about him and his dream of working with computers, we had no hesitation in sponsoring his college fees. Since then he has been given new prosthetics and… Continue

Wind In My Hair

Why is it always so windy on recycling day? Does our Divine Mother Earth take humour in watching me chase my pizza boxes up the hill?

Or perhaps in her infinite wisdom she has developed a way to rid my trees of their discoloured leaves. Hence, again "She" creates for me a task of exercise and outdoorsmanship.

Our human selves do not notice when The Atomic Mother does such things. I notice, I take to thought what I see happen behind the scenes of everyday societal living.… Continue

How To Save Crops From Freezing In Your Garden

Q. I have a farm in Afghanistan, which is about 30,000 square

metres, in which mainly grapes are grown. In the cold winter the

grape vines are buried under the ground because of the very cold

weather and then in the spring the vines are exposed to air and

light, then the vines become green. Mostly this works, but in some

years, after the plants grow their leaves and grapes, the weather

becomes cold again for only one night. All the grapes freeze and

become… Continue
