Welcome to India.

India the largest, historic, archaic, red stone, white marble, pink marble, teak wooded, jute rope tricked, elephantine, serpentine, tree lined, rail lined, rainbow colored, wet, dry, cold, hot, sunny, cloudy, starry, sky line, red in the summer evenings, foggy in winters, dome shaped… Continue

Christmas Cheer In Simla.

Christmas cheer in Simla.

Simla in its heady days saw many a plays of Shakespeare’s, being performed, enacted, applauded, lived on stage. The once summer capital of India , under the English. Has its own distinct Christmas charm, it turns pure as snow, with crystal icicles hanging like jingle bells on the pines, that line the meandrous hilly boulevards of this historical Himalayan hill station. The English were always discovering, experimenting, with new ways to implement laws on… Continue

Dreaming Sailing Star

Steal away, on a sailing star,

We can drift away, so far.

Catch on to a dream,

Float along a star-filled stream.

Come drift away with me,

Because dreams are vast as the sea.

Maybe we could sail away,

Onto the crest of a new day.

Sailing across an ocean of stars.

Floating beyond the moons of mars.

Still falling fast asleep,

Praying for my soul to keep.

Untethered… Continue

Greeting Sunrise at the Summer Solstice

In June 1995 at 4:30 in the morning, I went up to the roof top of my house with my sage, sweetgrass and smudge bowl. I was going to greet the sunrise and pray with my prayer pipe.. It was so quiet and everything was still.. there was a light morning fog... I lit the sage smudge and blessed myself, then lit the sweetgrass and prepared and blessed the prayer pipe for the morning ceremony. As I made my morning prayer offerings of tobacco into the pipe bowl, I sat looking to the East, praying with… Continue

spirituality and peace

I believe that what can bring peace to this world is loving our selves.

we have the power we can create our own reality!!

Can We Find Peace in War?

Can We Find Peace in War?

When in the midst of war, of carnage, of sorrow, of anger and frustration, how does one find the peaceful place inside? And is it reasonable to ask it of a human being in the midst of terror?

If people have never known inner peace as a constant state of being, then when tragedy strikes, it is very likely that they will succumb to all the old habitual responses of anger and revenge. Only the most practiced and experienced peacemakers… Continue

What a Suprise! Just an Ordinary Day!

Who woulda thought. Just a mild southwest Florida day. Blue skies, and fluffy cumulonimbus clouds; the landscapers manicuring the grounds. The ducks hanging around the complex's lake. A gentle breeze rolling in from the Gulf of Mexico. The sounds of children laughing at the playground near my building. All is right in my little corner of the world...and not a chance that anything could make this day fall apart.

The dog asleep on the lanai, snoring actually. I am a bit envious that… Continue

The Meaning of Life

Strange how we so often think it is silly to ask the question, "what is the meaning of life?" Since I started shooting Fierce Light: When Spirit Meets Action, I ask everyone I interview that question - from people on the street, to luminaries like Arch Bishop Desmond Tutu. The initial response is often surprise, laughter, and then - holy cow, he's serious. Some just launch right in, as it is a question they have asked themselves very often. Others might… Continue

REMEMBER THE CREATOR

Islam is a religion that sees God behind every thing, He is the Creator who creates, sustains and guides every thing in the universe including all the creatures and creations. His Will and Mercy are seen in every thing in His Universe. His power is supreme, when He wants any thing to be done, it is done. He masters the running events and the future events. The name of the God in Islam is Allah. This may stand in Arabic for two words Al ( the ) Ilah ( God ), which when combined and canceling… Continue

THE FORGIVENESS

The path of Forgiveness

Man , by nature , is fallible...in spite of this fact , he should rack himself not to commit sins , Sins are jeopardy; it turns the heart into a dark place where it could be a fertile soil for evils to grow. God , the Most Merciful , would accept man's repentence whatever it could be .

The Holy Quran presents solution to the human problem . In fact , God, the creator of man, knows best man's points of weakness . God says in the Holy Quran what…

RAPSODIA

Manantial, venero, fuente estro

voz única, pausada, ardiente de vate,

declamando poemas de amor.

Trovador, aedo, bardo, en mis oídos

tu fama era soneto en otro soneto

viajero que no termina de viajar

universal tu flama, lumbre cayendo,

desdoblándose cautivador como antes

degustando, catando, el aroma salino

desde las tinieblas mago en amor volviste

a saciarte… Continue
