Was this really my day?

Some days pass without a glitch, but also without anything memorable. Not today. I woke up without a headache (a first these days), the sun was shining, the mountains visible and work quite pleasant. A regular day indeed, until I received a message that Noa (Achinoam Nini) and Mira Awad are going to represent Israel at the Eurovision Song Contest.

I started to cry because this is momentous. It is significant not because an Israeli singer respresents her country, but because it's a… Continue

hello all.

about a week ago i posted a letter to my palestinian brothers everywhere.

in my original letter, i was very harsh in my words regarding Hamas. I was pointing a finger at them clearly, this came from my gut, from the deepest, most hurting place in my heart. The reason i did that, is that the horrible stories i have heard about Hamas from my Palestinian friends who used to live in Gaza (and escaped, barely, from death by Hamas), plus the videos on youtube of hamas… Continue

FREE HUGS for PEACE

Enjoy the Video below

This song is for you and your friends.....

For more compassion, more hugs, more peace....

In our hearts and in the world.....

(If) she (your friend's soul) just walks away from you

Hope you haven't heard

Does the sign say: "No Go Area"

or: "Please Do Not Disturb"

There's no ring of your bell

there's no voice in the phone

Why she's thinking you're better off alone?

Words just seem to pass… Continue

Poem: The Rich And The Poor

A close friend of mine is musical Ambassador to World Vision and just visitied a large regional development project in Ethiopia.

Although the people living there are extremely poor and have to live from only 1 $ per day(!), he has experienced "very proud, beautiful, joyous and precious personalities" the same time......

Hence, Idedicated this poem to all those on this planet who still celebrate warm unadulterated humanity despite all life-threatening odds… Continue

"the bell that still can ring"..singing for peace despite everything....

Hello friends,

As some of you might have heard, I will be representing Israel in the Eurovision song contest in May, together with my good friend Mira Awad.

I imagine this may come as a surprise to some of you……

I had been offered this position in the past and refused. This year I agreed, with the goal of using this huge media platform (many millions of viewers) as a means to convey a message of peace in these difficult times, together with my friend Mira . We… Continue

Taking action to stop war

I am one of the eight Jewish women who occupied the Israeli consulate in Toronto last Wednesday to protest the Israeli assault on Gaza on Wednesday. i have been heartsick watching the destruction of Gaza and the pain being inflicted on their people. I've been an activist all my life but don't often feel that civil disobedience is effective. The frustration we felt in trying to speak out as Jews who don't agree with what Israel is doing led us to this non-violent action of resistance. After… Continue

Response to David and the members of iPeace

Last night, after a long day away from the computer, I opened my mailbox to find it bursting with interesting things - first, David's public referal, with compliments, to one of my blog posts. Second, lots of apparent comments. When I opened the post to see the comments, I discovered it had disappeared. Today I learnt it had been removed, the first blog post ever to be removed from iPeace, what an honour. I started writing a response to David privately and then ran out of room; and since the… Continue

better to write something

actually - after two posts i've posted here i'm starting to think it wasn't a smart move - nobody seems to react to them, and after all - when one publishes something, he wishes that someone would "consume" it. anyhow - i might search another platform for my blog, or return to mepeace (only there i hadn't many readers as well...)

anyhow - i thought what more i should write about the war. the war that, as any other, i object to. you see - i'm not sure if i'm a pure pacifist, but as… Continue

The inner light

Dangling sails in doldrums,

gently rocking in a dry lull,

full of dead silence & vasteness,

no shore, no lighthouse in sight?

A nutshell in fragile suspense,

afloat on a sea of emptiness,

in the blue-turquoise sereneness

of an immersed sunny paradise....?

Opalescent reefs glut with sand,

rainbow-multi-couloured seafood,

afloat with bellies sunny side up

in… Continue

The Next Step

I was listening to an Enlightenext interview with evolutionary visionary Brian Swimme today, and he talked about the idea that the next phase of evolution will be when we learn to live in a society of “mutually enhancing relationships.”

What a beautiful vision. This is an evolutionary understanding that can apply to every facet of our lives, from the way we interact with each other, to the way we interact… Continue

NETWORK OF CIRCLES - NEW ARCHETYPE FOR COLLECTIVE SELF-GOVERNANCE

January 9, 2009

All over the world, and bursting forth today from its underground co-creative crucible into clear public discussion, there is a dawning excitement everywhere regarding the creative power and wisdom of collective human genius.

The election of Obama seems to have sparked the vision or wild hope that something almost divine or magical may be in the air. We have prayed, we have read and studied, we have gathered together in small groups everywhere, we have been… Continue

You may say I'm a dreamer. or what kind of iPeace we want.

I received a message from Stephanie:

David
If anyone is on our minds these days.....guess who it is.
Why don't you keep an online journal to let us know how YOU are doing.
We are all curious to know. You work miracles, keep us going and growing.
And you??
Hmm..

Why not? 85 messages in iPeace and same amount of emails can…

"MAGNETIC" - that's iPeace

IPeace is filled these weeks with an emotion-packed array of blogs and essays moving our souls from feeling despair from hurtful truths, to hope, to laughter-filled lightheartedness, and once again to front page headlines that pull us down, and then again to hopeful insights. Extraordinary and sensitive experts, writers, artists, human beings from every angle of the earth find themselves glaring onto screens to find things they didn't think they could ever expect to find, right in the comfort… Continue

RESPONSE TO NOA'S LETTER

SHALOM TO ALL THE BEAUTIFUL ISRAELIANS AND ARABS SUFFERING THE ONGOING WAR ANXIETY.

This is my answer to Noa’s soulful letter.

We need to insist as citizens of the world on non-violent solutions to these conflicts, is the Destruction of Hamas the answer? It will inevitably create more hatred through-out the zone.

I am surprised and blessed to read all the comments from the IPeace members, their depth and intelligence is amazing, but we need to be more…

a letter to my friend miguel from spain, after he sent me a video from gaza

Dear Miguel,

I watched the video you sent me with great horror.

It is indeed shocking and heart breaking to see the suffering of these poor people in aGaza. My heart goes out to them!!

But…

I watch horrified as well as I see the world, cynical and hypocritical, pointing its finger at Israel without placing the blame fairly on the shoulders of both sides.

Israel has made many mistakes, I write that in my letter and I have always said it. I am the… Continue

He's only ONE MAN

Remember

when you or I write something here, David, the "Father of iPeace", is only ONE man. The opportunity he has given us to meet, discuss, compare, divide, agree, disagree, get together, fall apart, enjoy, smile, cry, worry, right here, meaning all over the globe is a huge gift, perhaps for many, the best thing that has happened to them in years, or ever.

We have to remember, he is only one person, and at times it can be a huge job taking care of all… Continue
