The March Experience

The wind is like a knife,

In the middle of the early morning,

As I try to walk by the sea.

I have lots of pain,

From both the bruises,

And cracked ribs on my right side,

Af ter the accident on Friday night.

It is still very dark,

As the entire sky is covered by grey clouds,

But further in front,

I see a plane departing.

I hear the quiet waves,

Yet no sign of stars in the sky,

And no moon or the rising sun.

I had a very… Continue

A Very Human Paradox

I want to break free,

I want to break free from your lies,

You are so self satisfied,

I don’t need you.

I want to break free…

Sometime ago, I met someone; a very famous Italian professor who wrote a book that became well-known in Turkey. He owns his university in couple of different countries. To be introduced to him, I was invited to a training of him organized by his organization in Istanbul.

The training was on a Sunday at a five-star hotel… Continue

But Nobody Can Make It Alone Out Here

And you'll ask: why doesn't his poetry

speak of dreams and leaves

and the great volcanoes of his native land?

Come and see the blood in the streets.

Come and see the blood in the streets. by P.Neruda

It was two years ago, when I was called for a business mediation among three brothers. The company was quite sucessful with a very nisch product and it reached over 4 million euro turn over within three years.

After the pre-mediation process, I was… Continue

Even To Watch

Did God send me any invoice,

When I was a healthy human,

Created so fine,

And being able to do everything I wanted?

When I received inspirations,

To create,

Did he ever asked me a fee,

After a drawing of mine,

Or for any lines I wrote?

When I can breath,

When I can enjoy life,

When I have my wonderful son,

My trainees, my friends, my love, my family...

How can I ask money,

And for what?

When I received all… Continue

A Mediator’s Diary

When I wanted to write my mediation experiences in Turkey, I didn’t want to write an academic article. Firstly, that’s not fitting to my poet nature. Secondly, mediation itself, is a never-ending Road like Life, and I wanted to describe the full scenery with its colors. Of course, this is my Scenery.

Before Mediation: A Dream within a Dream

What have you been doing all those years?

I have been dreaming,

What have you been dreaming?

Well, dreams…

Lucily; Nothing is Alike!

Nothing Is Alike

I look at the colours in front of me;

And there are many;

Varying from yellow to deep purple.

My brush touches one colour

That my soul desires most at this moment.

And the soft kiss of my brush,

Meets the square paper on the table.

They exchange many kisses;

My brush and the square paper,

And many touches one after another.

All of a sudden,

With a surprise,

My painting says:

“It is enough… Continue

Speaking Italian and Be'ing Love

While studying Italian, my eyes are caught by the painting on my wall: Two hands are trying to touch each other. One, the upper one, is almost without any energy, just and only able to hold up his left hand. The other one on the contrary, touching from bottom with his right hand looks much stronger. It is easy to feel His energy. For at least the last twenty years, I have been watching this small square on my wall where ever I lived. Yet I saw the original painting only last year when I was in… Continue

Things I Didn't Know I Loved by Nazım Hikmet

Things I Didn't Know I Loved by Nazım Hikmet

It's 1962 March 28th

I'm sitting by the window on the Prague-Berlin train

night is falling

I never knew I liked

night descending like a tired bird on a smoky wet plain

I don't like

comparing nightfall to a tired bird

I didn't know I loved the earth

can someone who hasn't worked the earth love it

I've never worked the earth

it must be my only Platonic love

and here… Continue

The True Meaning of Peace (from the Chinese Literary Perspective) by Tan Chung

The concept of ‘Peace’ in our modern civilization (should I say, Western civilization?) is the facade of war, dominated by the calculations of realpolitik. This English word originates from the French concept which denotes ‘agreement’ — agreeing to stop a conflict or war. When we refer to The Universal Dictionary of the English Language we find that the first notion of ‘peace’ is ‘cessation of, freedom from, strife, warfare’, and the second notion of it is ‘treaty of peace between hostile… Continue

I love myself, I love you... by Rumi

A lover asked his beloved,

Do you love yourself more than you love me?

Beloved replied, I have died to myself and I live for you.

I've disappeared from myself and my attributes,

I am present only for you.

I've forgotten all my learnings,

but from knowing you I've become a scholar.

I've lost all my strength, but from your power I am able.

I love myself...I love you.

I love you...I love… Continue

Continious Rush

Instead of a continious rush
Look at the Nature;
Have you ever seen anything rushing?
Have you ever noticed
A goose or a tree rushing?
Or a flower, a wheat seed, a baby cat?
Have you ever noticed the nature rushing?
Think for a while before you answer,
And then tell me,
What for is this continious rush then?

Under The Shade of Silence

Under the Shade of Silence

I have a break under the shade of silence. I feel the soft breeze of quite thoughts, almost like, as if they donot exist. I am at the point where I donot realize the truth if there is any. I donot realize my being if I am really what I am. I am weightless, my soul flies away towards the horizon. Each time , I guess, she meets Infinity there.

Under the shade of silence, I realize the Greatness: The Humble Greatness. I am free to think what I want… Continue

RomAmor and Schrodinger's Cat

RomAmor and Schrödinger’s Cat

And my soul already had been here… Long ago with full pride living with my real love, too.

Only I did not realize it before−before I arrived in Rome−Roma, I should say. It was exactly how Schrödinger said it in his famous quantum experiment: “Unless we open the box, we won’t be able to know if the cat is dead or alive. Unless we open the box, there exists two truths: The cat is dead and the cat is alive!” How poor we all were as humans, not to… Continue

The Walrus, the Carpenter and the Prisoners

The Walrus, The Carpenter and the Prisoners

I am he as you are he as you are me and we are all together,

See how they run like pigs from a gun, see how they fly,

I'm crying…

The above lines might be known to some and might haven’t been to some others. It depended on how closely you were related to the Beatles. When the pilot project of the Ministery of Justice which was at the Children’s Prison started two months ago, to be honest, I didnot have the lines above… Continue

Rehumanizing Armenians and Turks

Published in Turkish Daily News, 12 November 2007

You are not alone if you have not heard the word ''rehumanization'' before. Unlike its twin sister ''dehumanization,'' rehumanization is not a popular tool in politics and identity construction. We would rather build identities or pursue political power by stripping the other from their humanity in order to legitimize our superiority over them. We are more inclined to… Continue
