I'll be traveling down to southern Mexico to witness the light show at Mayan Chichen Itza Kukulkan
El Castillo is a "time temple" that sheds light on the Mayan astronomical system An impressive 78 feet tall, the temple's name means "castle" in Spanish. El Castillo was actually a huge solar calendar. If you did the math, you would find that the 91 steps on each side, times 4 for each side and each season, plus 1 for the crowning platform adds up to 365 -- one step for each day of the solar year. During the equinoxes, the shadow pattern of the pyramid's steps would show a serpent climbing up the steps in March, and down the steps in September. It's an incredible sight!
The famous Maya Long Count calendar began on August 11, 3114 B.C and will end exactly 26,000 years later on December 21st, 2012 A.D. On that date the Sun rises to conjunct the intersection of the Milky Way and the plane of the ecliptic. This cosmic cross is considered to be an embodiment of the Sacred Tree, The Tree of Life, a tree remembered in all the world's spiritual tradition.

Unfortunately, I'm not going to be the only one there. But if you happen, my dear ipeace friends, to be in Chichen Itza on that date, I'll be the guy in the tye-dye handing out the magic mushrooms!
